Position/Salary and Benefits: Secretary I Grade 18, $18.75 hourly

$19.23 after 6 months of successful performance

$20.68 after 1-year of successful performance

This is a clerical position involving skilled operation of office equipment and general office management in the Court Services Office of the Eleventh Judicial District. Work involves independent performance of moderately complex and varied clerical duties and requires contact with the public as well as other professionals.

Job Duties: Greeting clients at the front window and answering the phoneData entry, file preparation, gathering court records, copying, filing and maintaining recordsProfessional communication and collaboration with internal and external personnel and other agencies.Position description and duties are subject to change to meet the needs of the agency and court.Required education and experience: High school diploma or GEDSix-months experience in clerical office with experience in computer data entry.Exceptional organization and documentation skills, and the ability to become proficient in new technology systems. Professional integrity and the ability to maintain confidentiality. Additional Desired Qualifications:Extensive knowledge and experience in working with computers and excellent typing skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skillsGeneral knowledge of modern office practices, procedures and equipment. Experience with court procedures and policies Customer service skills and the ability to follow oral and written instructions. Other: Once hired, the successful candidate will be required to pass a fingerprint-based background check.
