New Brunswick Board of Education

Qualifications:

  • High school graduate or high school equivalency.
  • Minimum of two years business/clerical experience within the past five years.
  • Proficient in the use of computer information systems.
  • Ability to work well with colleagues to create a team atmosphere


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in public schools
  • Experience providing support via phone and email to schools and families
  • Experience using student information systems, preferably OnCourse SIS
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel
  • Experience using Google Business Suite (G-mail, Google Drive, Google Sheets)
  • Ability to problem solve and resolve issues constructively
  • Ability to communicate effectively via the phone, email, in writing, and in-person
  • Ability to work in a team and independently


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Utilize computer systems/programs to create correspondence, reports, presentations and to track, organize and manipulate data.
  • Utilize organizational methods to maintain order and efficiency in the office.
  • Prepare and compose correspondence, memoranda, letters, staff observations (including but not limited to: inter and intra school reports, purchase orders, state and federal data) and reports that are free of spelling and grammatical errors and are professional in tone.
  • Operate office machines and equipment (copy, scan, fax, etc.).
  • Engage with public, staff and students with a high degree of respect, good judgment and confidentiality where needed, with a heavy focus on the delivery of quality customer service.
  • Disperse materials and supplies to teachers.
  • Demonstrate responsibility when entrusted with confidential matters and materials.
  • Receive and screen attendance calls.
  • Maintain records of student attendance and lateness and reasons for absence or lateness.
  • Maintain record of parental calls.
  • Confer with guidance secretary for new students or students transferring out; prepares master files for data processing.
  • Create and distribute daily and monthly suspension lists.
  • Performs other duties as may be assigned by his/her supervisor(s) under authority of the board of education.
  • Carry out all special assignments effectively and efficiently.

Salary:
