Serve as Secretary for the Diabetes and Kidney Unit (DKU) manager and staff including nurse consultants, public health consultants, statisticians and outside contractor staff. This unit contains a vast array of complex, statewide initiatives and projects intended to prevent and/or reduce the burden of diabetes and kidney disease among Michigan citizens. This position will provide the secretarial support needed to maintain all the unit projects and implement new programs as they are developed and initiated. This position ensures effective operation for the unit, including a work environment that promotes dignity, respect and fairness.

Educational level typically acquired through completion of high school.
Secretary 7
Two years of office experience involving administrative support practices, including one year equivalent to 6-level administrative support experience.?
Secretary E8
Three years of office experience involving administrative support practices, including one year equivalent to experienced-level administrative support work or equivalent to a Secretary 7 or Legal Secretary 7.
Certain positions may require a criminal history background check.
Position Location/Remote Office: The physical location of this position is 320 S. Walnut (5th Floor North), Lansing, MI. Based on operational needs and within established limits, remote work and alternate or hybrid work schedule requests for this position may be considered. Selected candidates who have been approved to work remotely or a hybrid schedule must complete that work within Michigan. Candidates should confirm work location and schedule at the time of interview.
Employees will be provided computers to perform state work. Phones may also be provided for necessary communications. If working remotely, employees will be responsible for providing other components of a remote office at their own expense, including:
