Reporting directly to the Manager of Patient Care, at the OSI Clinic, the Secretary for the Operational Stress Injury Clinic provides administrative functions for the OSI clinic. Coordinates the logistics of services such as meetings, group activity, conferences and workgroups. Consolidates activities related to human and material management, drafts and prepares reports, letter and other documents.

Performs all duties in accordance with established health and safety regulations/guidelines, policies and procedures (e.g. utilizing personal, protective equipment as per safe work procedures). Notifies their Manager or their designates (i.e. supervisors) of all occurrences, injuries illnesses or safety and health concerns which are likely to harm themselves, their co-workers, or any others who enter the premises.

Experience

  • Two years related experience in a health-care setting.
  • Recent experience using Accuro (EMR) is preferred.
  • Recent outpatient medical health clinic experience preferred.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

  • Grade 12 (Manitoba standard).
  • Successful completion of a secretarial program or course of study or equivalent.

  • Well-developed computer skills, including word processing (Word), spreadsheets (Excel) and communication (Outlook).

  • May encounter aggressive and/or agitated patients/residents/staff/visitors.

This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.
