THE SCHOOL BOARD OF HIGHLANDS COUNTY

POSITION TITLE: Secretary

ASSIGNMENT: Secretary 3 - Guidance

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

1. High school diploma or equivalent
2. Three (3) years experience in a clerical, secretarial or administrative assistant position
3. Physical Requirements: Ability to perform essential functions and tasks which may include exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or 10 pounds of force as frequently as necessary; lifting, crawling, kneeling, bending, stooping, pulling, and pushing, if required
4. Satisfactory clearance of a criminal history records check and drug screening

ADDITIONAL DESIRED JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Demonstrated skill in using office equipment (i.e., copiers, phones, calculators, computers, FAX machines).
2. Basic knowledge of appropriate office practices and procedures.

PRIMARY PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Secretary to Guidance Counselors.
2. Greets incoming public, teachers, and students in guidance office.
3. Answers incoming calls.
4. Assists with student registration.
5. Schedules parent/teacher conferences.
6. Backup for Front Desk Secretary.
7. Backup for Data Operator.
8. Performs other tasks as assigned by the Principal and Assistant Principal.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES:

Performs all other duties as assigned by the Administrator

TERM:

Length of contract and number of hours worked are determined by specific allocation as approved annually during planning-budgeting process

APPRAISAL:

Performance will be appraised annually in accordance with School Board policies

PAYGRADE:

According to the School Board of Highlands County Non-instructional Salary Schedule
