Job Description
We are seeking a passionate and proactive Secondary Inclusion Support Teacher (IST) to join GEMS - TBS (The British School Al Rehab) to support students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), English as an Additional Language (EAL), and those requiring additional learning support. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with teachers, families, and the Inclusion Team to create an inclusive learning environment where every student can thrive and achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and assess students' learning, communication, social, emotional, and academic needs.
- Manage a caseload of students, monitoring progress and coordinating support plans.
- Plan and deliver targeted interventions in individual, small-group, and classroom settings.
- Collaborate with teachers to implement inclusive strategies, differentiation, and effective classroom accommodations.
- Analyse assessment data to inform interventions and monitor student progress.
- Support access arrangements and ensure appropriate accommodations are embedded in everyday learning.
- Build positive partnerships with parents and external professionals through regular communication and review meetings.
- Promote student voice, independence, and person-centred practice.
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to inclusion compliance, quality assurance, and safeguarding processes.
- Support students during key transition periods to ensure continuity of learning and wellbeing.
Requirements
- A degree in Education, Psychology, Special Education, or a related field (SEND qualification desirable).
- Experience supporting students with SEND and/or EAL in a secondary school environment.
- Experience delivering targeted interventions and working collaboratively with teachers and families.
- A strong understanding of inclusive teaching practices, differentiation, and evidence-based interventions.
- Knowledge of SEND needs, including dyslexia, ADHD, autism, and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs.
- Excellent organisational, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Confidence in using assessment data to monitor progress and inform support strategies.
- A proactive, collaborative approach and a commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, and student success.
