Title: Dean

Supports a safe, respectful, and productive learning environment by leading all efforts related to student behavior, discipline, and conflict resolution for middle and high school students. This role works closely with school leadership, staff, students, and families to ensure that behavioral expectations are clear, consistently enforced, and focused on positive student outcomes

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Support school-wide implementation of discipline procedures, ensuring compliance with district policies and student codes of conduct.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for addressing student misconduct, classroom disruptions, and behavioral referrals.
• Investigate incidents involving student behavior, document findings, and administer appropriate consequences or restorative actions.
• Coordinate in-school suspensions, behavior contracts, and student re-entry plans.
• Collaborate with teachers and support staff to identify and address patterns of behavior and promote positive interventions.
• Assist with maintaining accurate and confidential discipline records in the district's student information system.
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding discipline issues, interventions, and student progress.
• Assist with supervision during arrival, dismissal, lunch, hall transitions, and school events to ensure a safe school environment.
• Participate in student support team meetings and provide input on behavioral interventions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• An Associate's degree from an accredited institution is required.
• OR a High School diploma/GED with a minimum of five (5) years of related experience in school-based leadership, behavior management, or student support.
• Strong knowledge of student discipline procedures, conflict resolution, and positive behavior supports.
