Job Description

The Emerging Lead / Team Lead / Assistant Manager role supports end‑to‑end SEC Yield operations by combining strong technical accounting expertise with day‑to‑day team oversight. The role ensures accurate processing, timely issue resolution, adherence to controls, effective coordination with stakeholders, and deliver excellent service to Clients, while acting as a key support to the Manager in driving operational stability and continuous improvement.

Overall Responsibilities

  • Support daily, monthly, periodic delivery of SEC Yield processes across assigned Clients/ funds and team members.
  • Monitors, reviews, and validates all daily work to ensure accurate timely calculations and processing.
  • Provide day‑to‑day guidance, coaching, and task prioritization for analysts and associates.
  • Monitor daily workflows, overnight jobs, and operational dashboards for issues or delays.
  • Researches and resolves complex exceptions and issues. Elevates unresolved issues to management, as required.
  • Accounts for all activity in an accurate and timely manner and maintains all required controls to ensure overall accuracy.
  • Manages the preparation and review of daily/ monthly/ quarterly reports and assists in timely and accurate resolution of discrepancies.
  • Ensure adherence to SLAs, internal controls, and compliance requirements.
  • Coordinate with global operations, technology, and client service teams for issue resolution.
  • Assist the Manager with capacity planning, workload management, and coverage planning.
  • Support process documentation, standardization, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Contribute to training, knowledge sharing, and cross‑skill development within the team.
  • Remains familiar with back-up procedures when system applications and/or transmission problems arise.
  • Monitor and ensure timely delivery of SEC Yield reports/ information to Clients/ Client Service/ Accounting teams.

Accounting Specific Responsibilities

  • Perform and review daily SEC Yield calculations and validation checks.
  • Investigate and resolve income‑related discrepancies, accrual issues, and yield breaks.
  • Review fund setups, rule groups, and reporting statuses impacting SEC Yield.
  • Analyze yield movements and ensure accurate interpretation of income components.
  • Support resolution of issues related to non‑reporting, merged, or inactive funds.
  • Perform yield movement reviews and ensure timely follow‑up on open breaks.
  • Ensure SEC Yield calculations align with internal guidelines.
  • Assist with month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end related activities.
  • Escalate accounting risks, trends, or control gaps with clear impact assessment.
  • Maintain clear documentation of SEC Yield process related decisions, exceptions, and resolutions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s/ Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.
  • 5–8 years of experience in Fund Accounting, SEC Yield, or Investment Accounting.
  • Experience in a global financial services or asset management environment preferred.
  • Strong technical knowledge of SEC Yield calculations, income & expenses accounting, fund structures, and financial instruments.
  • Prior experience reviewing work or acting as a backup/lead is preferred.
  • Ability to balance hands‑on processing with team support responsibilities.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and attention‑to‑detail skills.
  • Effective communication skills for stakeholder coordination and issue escalation.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines in a high‑volume production environment.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and fund accounting platforms.
  • Exposure to drive change, process improvement, and automations is an advantage.
