In this role you will:

  • Be responsible forcertification activities foraircraftseating products withinthe Boeing Commercial Airplanes business unit, producingSTCs that allowpost-delivery installation of new seating products

  • Serve asa Boeing representative for stress, engineering and certification topics relatedtotheintegration ofaircraftseating

  • Perform analytical and finite element (FE)calculations,assess and predict structural failure modes,includingexecution of root cause analysis

  • Compile structural substantiation documents and review data from our suppliers for integration approval of seats (allseattypes,includingthosewithunique features) into the airframe

  • Work closely with Boeing teams and other internal and external stakeholders to ensure our products are delivered in the correct condition and quality.

What you bring to the table:

Basic qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s degree in Stress/Structures/Mechanical or Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering.

  • 5+ years of related work experience inaerospaceengineering, including stress analysis, supplier integration,and understanding oftheEASA Part 21Jcertificationprocess.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience:You havea good understanding ofEASA regulatoryand applicable airworthiness requirements, includingCS-25.561 and CS-25.562and theirassociated ACsand AMCsExperience in seat development and certificationcovering conceptdefinitionthrough approval, includingtest witnessing, familiarity withETSO performance standards(i.e.: C127, C39 series),andworking knowledge ofSTCprocesses foraircraftseats.

  • Knowledge:Showstrongattention to detailwithexperienceinaircraftinterior modification programs,including certifying novel seat features such as pre-tensioners and air bags.Ability to manage multipleprograms with varying levels of requirements

  • Collaboration:Demonstratedexperience working effectively with colleagues andstakeholders ( i.e.:suppliersandcustomers) Willingnessto help,develop, mentor and coach less experienced staff.

  • Tools:Proficiencywith key engineering tools: ENOVIA, Catia V5/V6, Altair HyperWorks,PATRAN / NASTRAN.
