Seasons Director, Full-Time

Annual salary $70,000 - $73,000

In alignment with the mission, values, and uncompromising standards of Gallaher Signature Living (GSL), the Seasons Director provides leadership for the memory care neighborhood with primary responsibility for resident lifestyle, engagement, and the overall seasons memory care experience.

Approximately 85% of this role is dedicated to creating and delivering an exceptional resident experience through meaningful programming, lifestyle leadership, team engagement, and family partnerships, while 15% focuses on operational oversight to ensure the neighborhood operates smoothly, safely, and in accordance with Gallaher Signature Living standards and title 22 requirements.

The Seasons Director serves as the steward of Gallaher Signature Living's memory care philosophy by designing, implementing, and continuously enhancing a comprehensive lifestyle program that promotes cognitive engagement, emotional well-being, social connection, and individualized purpose. The Seasons Director is accountable for the overall resident experience within the memory care neighborhood, ensuring every day is thoughtfully planned, personalized, and executed with excellence.

Working collaboratively with families, the Executive Director, the Wellness Team, and community partners, the Seasons Director creates an environment where residents living with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia experience dignity, joy, and meaningful daily living.

Key responsibilities

Resident experience & lifestyle leadership (approximately 85%)

  • Own and lead the overall resident experience within the memory care neighborhood, ensuring every resident is engaged, supported, and treated with dignity, compassion, and respect.
  • Design, develop, implement, and continuously evaluate Gallaher Signature Living's comprehensive memory care lifestyle program.
  • Plan, publish, and execute monthly, weekly, and daily activity calendars that provide a balanced variety of cognitive, physical, creative, spiritual, educational, sensory, and social experiences.
  • Develop individualized engagement opportunities based on each resident's life history, interests, abilities, preferences, and cognitive level.
  • Personally facilitate, lead, and participate in activities while ensuring exceptional execution by the seasons team.
  • Create meaningful daily experiences that encourage purpose, independence, accomplishment, joy, and social connection.
  • Coordinate special events, themed celebrations, family events, entertainers, educational presentations, holiday programming, outings, volunteer programs, and intergenerational activities.
  • Maintain an engaging, stimulating, welcoming, and beautifully presented memory care environment that reflects changing seasons, holidays, resident interests, and sensory needs.
  • Ensure activity supplies, equipment, program materials, and resident resources are organized, maintained, and readily available.
  • Evaluate resident participation and continuously adapt programming to maximize engagement and quality of life.
  • Promote resident choice, independence, and person-centered engagement throughout each day.
  • Partner with the culinary team and clinical to ensure a high-end dining experience for residents during dining times.
  • Mentor, coach, and inspire the seasons team to deliver exceptional resident engagement and personalized service.
  • Train and educate team members on dementia engagement techniques, communication strategies, activity facilitation, redirection, and person-centered care.
  • Create daily assignments and schedules that maximize resident interaction and meaningful engagement.
  • Foster a culture of hospitality, creativity, accountability, compassion, teamwork, and service excellence.
  • Lead by example through active participation in resident programming and neighborhood life.
  • Recognize, motivate, and support team members to create an energetic and positive work environment.

Family engagement

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for memory care families regarding resident lifestyle, activities, engagement, and quality of life.
  • Build trusted relationships through consistent communication, education, empathy, and collaboration.
  • Welcome new residents and families by creating personalized transition plans that help residents successfully acclimate to the community.
  • Encourage family participation in programs, celebrations, and special events.
  • Gather resident history, preferences, interests, and personal stories to create meaningful and individualized experiences.
  • Partner with families to continuously enhance each resident's quality of life and overall experience.
  • Although this position oversees various lifestyle activities in seasons, they will not be required to drive residents and are not a part of the DMV pull program or dot regulations.

Operational Leadership (approximately 15%)

  • Oversee the daily operations of seasons to ensure a safe, welcoming, organized, and hospitality-driven environment.
  • Conduct routine neighborhood rounds to ensure cleanliness, organization, safety, and readiness for residents, families, and visitors.
  • Maintain compliance with Title 22 regulations, Gallaher Signature Living policies, and memory care program standards.
  • Partner closely with the executive director, wellness, dining services, housekeeping, maintenance, and other departments to ensure seamless operations and an exceptional resident experience.
  • Monitor neighborhood supplies, activity materials, and equipment, ensuring appropriate inventory and organization.
  • Respond promptly to residents, family, and staff concerns, resolving operational issues whenever possible and escalating clinical concerns to the wellness team as appropriate.
  • Maintain required documentation related to resident engagement, activity participation, program calendars, and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with resident move-ins, transitions, neighborhood readiness, and special projects that enhance the seasons experience.
  • Support community marketing efforts by showcasing the seasons program during tours, events, and public interactions.
  • Uphold Gallaher Signature Living's standards of professionalism, hospitality, resident satisfaction, and operational excellence.
  • Attend monthly or weekly quality assurance review meetings as scheduled by the executive director and wellness director.
  • Participate in care plan meetings with the executive director and/or health and wellness director.
  • Occasional work on the floor to provide high end resident services and care.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Three or more years of leadership experience in memory care, life enrichment, recreation therapy, senior living, hospitality, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated success designing and leading engaging lifestyle and activity programs for older adults, preferably those living with dementia.
  • Strong understanding of person-centered dementia care and meaningful engagement practices.
  • Outstanding organizational, event planning, and program management skills.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building abilities.
  • Creative, energetic, and passionate about enhancing quality of life for seniors.
  • Ability to lead activities, motivate teams, and foster meaningful resident participation.
  • Experience coordinating special events, volunteers, entertainers, and community partnerships.
  • Working knowledge of Title 22 requirements related to resident activities and memory care operations preferred.
  • Ability to work occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays to support resident events, celebrations, and community programming.
  • Other duties as assigned.
