We are seeking a Seasonal Worker to join the team at My Sister's Place Thrift Store & Donation Center, supporting store operations during the busy holiday season. If you enjoy helping others, thrive in a fast-paced retail environment, and want to make a meaningful impact through your work, we'd love to hear from you. This position plays an important role in creating a positive shopping and donation experience at My Sister's Place, where proceeds from store sales benefit The Umbrella Center for Domestic Violence Services, a program of BHcare.

This position is part-time, 25 hours per week. The schedule is Tuesday-Saturday from 11am-4pm.

It starts on or around November 2nd through January 9th, 2027.

Candidates must reside in Connecticut to be eligible for this position.

What You Will Do

As a Seasonal Worker, you will help maintain a welcoming, organized, and efficient retail environment while supporting customers, donors, staff, and volunteers throughout the holiday season. Responsibilities include:

  • Greet donors and customers and provide outstanding customer service.
  • Receive, sort, and organize incoming donations.
  • Process donated items and ensure they are routed appropriately to sales, storage, or recycling areas.
  • Restock merchandise and assist with inventory replenishment.
  • Create attractive merchandise displays and maintain a clean, organized sales floor.
  • Help keep fitting rooms, donation areas, shelves, and storage spaces neat and presentable.
  • Support day-to-day store operations to ensure a safe and positive experience for shoppers and donors.

What You Will Bring

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Basic computer skills, including the ability to use an iPad or similar technology.
  • Ability to assist with point-of-sale transactions.
  • Strong customer service skills and a genuine desire to help others.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous retail, customer service, thrift store, or inventory experience.
  • Experience working with volunteers or community-based organizations.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment during peak business periods.

The anticipated salary range for this position is $17-$18. Actual compensation offered will be determined based on a variety of factors including relevant skills, experience, qualifications, certifications, and internal equity considerations.
