Joel Gott Wines is hiring a Harvest Sugar Sampler to assist our Central Coast team in monitoring maturity in our vineyards beginning August 2026 through the end of Harvest, typically early November. We are looking to hire a part-time candidate (2-3 days a week). Please specify your availability in your resume or cover letter.
The position is based near Paso Robles but will require travel to our vineyard territories spanning Monterey, San Benito, San Luis Obispo, and Santa Barbara counties. No Experience needed. We are seeking a motivated team member who is looking to gain further knowledge in the wine industry with a hands-on experience alongside a fun and hardworking team!
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Collect vineyard samples (grape clusters/berries) and viticulture data (cluster weights)
• Assess maturity and vine development and record field observations
• Manage daily route to ensure timely results
• Assist lab team in processing juice samples
• Data entry of sample results and field notes
• Assist grower relations team with compiling and filing seasonal viticulture notes
REQUIREMENTS:
• Hardworking, ability to follow written and verbal instructions
• Ability to clearly and accurately document information
• Ability to work long hours, weekends
• Extensive walking and ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs
• Exposure to outside elements and physical work (lifting, bending, climbing, squatting)
• Valid CA driver’s license and clean DMV report required for company vehicle use
Salary Range: $20.75 - $23.07
The starting pay will be based on several factors, including but not limited to experience, training, education, and geographic location.
