
Seasonal Residential Mental Health Worker I - All Shifts - Cape & Islands Adult Community Clinical Services260002J6
This is a seasonal position for an anticipated duration of 90 days.
The Cape & Islands Adult Community Clinical Services (ACCS) operated by the Department of Mental Health (DMH) is seeking a dynamic candidate who will provide direct care services to individuals in a residential group home setting. This position will act as a primary advocate for assigned Persons Served; assisting individuals to meet their rehabilitation goals, completing required daily documentation and maintaining a Person Centered, Trauma Informed approach.
The selected candidate will work as part of a residential group home team within the ACCS program and will provide rehabilitative interventions to persons with major mental illness by participating in the development of comprehensive assessments as well as developing and implementing the clients’ Individual Action Plan. Additional responsibilities may include securing appropriate services for persons served by working with other programs within the agency as well as the community such as SSI, Mass rehab, day programs, psychiatric and medical services. Knowledge of all medications used within the program is expected as he or she will be distributing medications to clients and educating on proper usage. The incumbent in this position will maintain a therapeutic atmosphere through professional performance and attitude to promote quality care and person served growth. Transporting clients to and from appointments or activities using a program vehicle or their own vehicle is necessary for this role.
Please Note This is a seasonal position for an anticipated duration of 90 days.This position is full-time, 40 hours per week. The work schedule will vary. 2nd & 3rd shifts available. Seasonal positions do not offer employee benefits with the exception of sick time accruals. The work location will be 191 Santuit-Newtown Road, Marstons Mills, MA 02648.
Employees in this position will be required to perform mandatory overtime.

Please note in accordance with an agreement between the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Department of Mental Health and AFSCME/Council 93, employees assigned to a work unit where the Medication Administration Program (MAP) is used are required to pass MAP certification within 6 months of entering the position or 3 examination opportunities, whichever comes first. Employees are required to maintain MAP certification as long as you are working in said program.
Possession of a current and valid class D Motor Vehicle Operator’s license required for this function.

Based on assignment: Incumbents are required upon successful completion of a training program to obtain and maintain one or more of the following certifications: Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), first aid, and Medication Administration Program (MAP) certification
Salary placement is determined by a combination of factors, including the candidate’s years of directly related experience and education, and alignment with our internal compensation structure as set forth by the Human Resources Division’s Hiring Guidelines. For all bargaining unit positions (non-management), compensation is subject to the salary provisions outlined in the applicable collective bargaining agreement and will apply to placement within the appropriate salary range.
