SEASONAL - Ice Support Staff -Acacia (PT Recreation and Camp Support)

The Parks Department is looking for reliable, energetic, and attentive employees who will be providing support to facility staff and customers at the outdoor Acacia Park Ice Rink during the winter season. The outdoor Acacia Park Ice Rink is a fan favorite for our local community and attributes to the magic of our Colorado Springs downtown holiday season. This position involves both indoor & outdoor work; Primary work schedule is evenings, weekends, and holidays.

This is a seasonal (at-will) position with benefits limited to those required by applicable state and federal laws, which include Worker's Compensation, Medicare, Unemployment Insurance, and PERA (Public Employees' Retirement Association).

Approximate dates of employment will be October 2026 - February 2027. Scheduled hours will vary based on department needs. Total hours worked will not exceed 1,500 annually.

As Ice Support Staff, you will:

  • Receive payments or fees for programs; issue receipts
  • Count cash drawer; reconcile transactions at the end of shift
  • Assist with snow/ice removal and other weather related facility upkeep
  • Assist customers with skate rentals
  • Assist with event setup and tear down
  • Assist with skate patrol as needed
  • Open/close facility when required; perform janitorial duties
  • Operate ice re-surfacer and edger as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

We are looking for candidates who demonstrate:

  • Basic ice skating skills (training will be provided if needed)
  • Ability to interact with customers in person and on the telephone
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, verbally and in writing
