Job Description

Waste Connections is seeking a Seasonal Heavy Equipment Operator to join our Madera Disposal team in Suisun City, CA!

Schedule Monday-Friday 9-10 hours per day, starting at 7am. This project will last approximately 6 months.

Compensation Starting pay begins at $45-60 per hour, based on experience.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Operate dozer, excavator, motor grader, and other equipment on site as needed.
  • Excavate, relocate, and grade soil as needed as part of landfill cell construction.
  • Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of equipment.

Working Conditions

  • Work is performed outdoors in varying weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, and occasional rain.
  • The environment may be dusty, noisy, and require the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), such as hearing protection, gloves, and safety boots.
  • There will be exposure to machinery and heavy equipment, so safety protocols and precautions are strictly followed.

Minimum Job Requirements

  • 2+ years of heavy equipment operating experience
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Must pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen
  • Ability to work effectively in various outdoor conditions, including exposure to weather elements, and a dynamic work environment.
