Job Title: Seasonal Campus Security Officer
Location: Thornwood, NY
Position Type: Seasonal (Full-Time & Part-Time Opportunities Available)
Pay Rate: $19.00 per hour

Join Our Team This Summer!

We are seeking dependable and professional Seasonal Campus Security Officers to support security operations at a private educational campus in Thornwood, NY. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to gain security experience in a professional campus environment while helping maintain a safe and welcoming atmosphere for students, staff, and visitors.

This seasonal assignment is expected to begin within the next two weeks and continue through mid-August 2026. Multiple openings are available across afternoon, evening, overnight, weekday, and weekend shifts.

Available Shifts

Potential schedules may include:

  • Afternoon Shift: 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM
  • Overnight Shift: 10:00 PM – 6:00 AM
  • Weekday and weekend coverage available
  • Full-time and part-time opportunities

Schedules are subject to operational needs and may be adjusted as staffing requirements evolve.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct interior and exterior foot patrols throughout the campus
  • Monitor campus buildings, grounds, and common areas
  • Observe and report suspicious activity, safety hazards, or policy violations
  • Provide excellent customer service to students, staff, visitors, and vendors
  • Assist with access control and visitor management procedures
  • Respond to incidents and emergencies in accordance with site protocols
  • Complete accurate and detailed incident and activity reports
  • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times

Qualifications

  • Valid New York State Security Guard License (preferred)
  • High School Diploma or GED (required)
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to walk and stand for extended periods during patrols
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Reliable, punctual, and professional
  • Entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply
  • Must have reliable personal transportation and access to a vehicle, as the work location is not easily accessible by public transportation
