Job Type Part-Time to Full Time Hours

We are seeking a motivated and efficient Bakery Prep Support team member to join our kitchen on a seasonal basis, approximate 2 month-term with the possibility of an extension or transition to a permanent role based on business needs and availability. This position functions as a flexible “floater” within the bakery, providing support across prep areas, production baking, packaging, and dishwashing.

The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment while collaborating closely with the bakery and kitchen teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Bakery & Kitchen Support: Assist with a variety of prep tasks across the bakery as needed, with a primary focus on savory components and items.
  • Savory Preparation: Prepare savory fillings, components, and menu items according to established recipes and production standards.
  • Team Collaboration: Work efficiently and professionally with teammates to ensure smooth daily operations and timely production.
  • Fast-Paced Production: Maintain organization, accuracy, and efficiency while meeting prep and service timelines.
  • Sanitation & Cleanliness: Clean and sanitize workstations, tools, equipment, and shared kitchen areas in accordance with food safety standards.
  • Stocking & Receiving: Lift, stock, and restock ingredients and supplies; assist with unloading and organizing weekly deliveries.
  • Recipe Adherence: Accurately follow recipes and prep guidelines to ensure consistency and quality.
  • Equipment Use: Safely operate bakery and kitchen equipment, including mixers, ovens, and other prep tools.
  • Dishwashing & Cleanup: Perform light dishwashing duties and maintain a clean workspace throughout and at the end of shifts.
  • Food Labeling & Rotation: Wrap, label, and date prepared items, following FIFO (First In, First Out) practices.
  • Flexible Support Role: Provide coverage and assistance where needed, adapting to changing priorities throughout the day.
  • Additional Duties: Complete other bakery or kitchen-related tasks as assigned by supervisors or managers.

This seasonal role is well-suited for someone who enjoys variety, teamwork, and hands-on food preparation, with an opportunity to grow with the business if the need arises.

Requirements

  • Previous kitchen experience or food prep experience is a plus, but not required.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
  • Ability to work efficiently and remain organized in a fast-paced kitchen.
  • Positive attitude, strong communication skills, and team-oriented mindset.
  • Willingness to perform various kitchen tasks and assist team members as needed
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs when restocking or unloading supplies.
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time and engage in repetitive movements in food prep and cleaning tasks

Too Sweet Cakes was founded in 2016 by Shelbi Geyer, whose love for baking started as a young girl, sketching cake designs and dreaming of one day opening her own bakery. What started as a small wholesale bakery quickly grew into something more. From there Too Sweet Cakes expanded to Lake Oswego, and today, we proudly operate four retail locations across Oregon and Arizona, with a fifth location opening in 2026 in Paradise Valley, Arizona.
