The Seasonal Athletic Facilities and Grounds Worker will provide support to the Chief Operations Officer. This role requires an enthusiastic, proactive individual with an understanding of both athletics and maintenance. The main function of this job will be to support our athletics operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Athletic Facility Maintenance
- Ensure the common areas of the facility are clean and free of trash and spills
- Coordinate the cleaning schedule around daily activities
- Inspect, maintain, and repair all playing surfaces
- Schedule and perform maintenance on facility equipment
- Coordinate with the athletics department and the Events Coordinator on facility repairs to avoid conflicts
- Contract maintenance with outside vendors, when necessary
- Assist in coordinating support of logistical needs of events and/or game-day preparations
Grounds Maintenance
- Monitor the overall appearance and cleanliness of the school grounds
- Contract maintenance with outside vendors, when necessary
- Coordinate maintenance and repair work with the Events Coordinator to avoid conflicts and maximize usage of the grounds
- Monitor all walkways and flower beds, keeping them clear of weeds, grass, trash, water, etc.
- Maintain all trees, shrubbery, and flower beds
- Operate machinery to include all equipment
- Clean and empty trash cans on the athletics field
- Ensure the parking lot is clean and free of trash
- Keep an inventory of supplies and equipment, as well as update maintenance logs
- Collaborate with the Athletics department on ways to improve athletics facilities for events

High School
Experience
1+ year of experience in maintenance, janitorial, or related field preferred
LICENSES, CLEARANCES, CERTIFICATES
- Valid Fingerprint
- Valid CPR and First Aid certifications
- TB Risk Assessment
- Ministry Safe Clearance
KEY COMPETENCIES
Knowledge
- Knowledge of basic math skills, including measurement, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, to do basic calculations and analysis, such as estimating, determining averages, percentages, and totals
- Knowledge of the use of general office equipment, such as, but not limited to, a personal computer, telephone, and photocopy machine
- Knowledge of internal building systems, including sprinkler systems, HVAC systems, etc
- Knowledge of the use of general maintenance tools, supplies, and equipment, including but not limited to hand tools, pressure washers, blowers, paint equipment, sanders, and safety equipment
- Knowledge of the use of chemicals and general cleaning supplies

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The employee must have the physical abilities to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined above
- Frequently move about the campus, sit for extended periods, talk and hear, and use hands to handle, feel, or grasp objects
- Occasionally stand, walk, push, pull, or lift up to 50 pounds, reach with hands or arms, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crawl, taste, or smell

- The majority of work is performed in a climate-controlled school setting, with occasional outside exposure to varying weather conditions.
- The noise level is that of a typical quiet office setting, with occasional exposure to moderate to loud noise at school events
