We are seeking ambitious and talented individuals to join our platform as Search Fund Entrepreneurs or "searchers". As a searcher at SMEVentures, you will embark on the journey to identify, acquire, and subsequently operate a high-potential business as its CEO.

As of November '23, two-thirds of search fund acquisitions in Australia have been completed by SMEVentures-backed searchers. With the support of our experienced team, tech-powered sourcing engine, and vast network, SMEVentures searchers are empowered to succeed as future CEOs.

Deciding to search is a much, much bigger decision than applying for a job. Yes, you will get paid. And yes, you will work your tail off. However, this choice will likely carry far more weight than any other career move you have made to date for the following reasons:

1. Once you experience the thrill of running your own business, there’s no turning back. You will find it difficult to be satisfied with nearly any other occupation.
2. The opportunity cost is significant. You must be ready to dedicate the next 7-10 years to this project, a period during which you may have otherwise taken several other jobs or received several promotions, working your way up the corporate ladder.
3. The upside opportunity is even more significant, both from an economic standpoint and in terms of personal development.

If a search fund is the right path for you, then you’re making one of the best decisions of your life. If not, then be prepared for a bumpy road. I therefore suggest taking time with your responses. Take them to heart, and treat them with care.

Lastly, please note that we currently partner only with entrepreneurs in Australia and New Zealand. On rare occasions, we will consider working with a searcher elsewhere in Asia Pacific.
