Seamstress - Part Time

(Please note that you must already have work rights in New Zealand to be considered for this role)

We are looking for a skilled and passionate part time Seamstress to join our dedicated Housekeeping team!

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in managing the procurement and upkeep of uniforms for a team of over 500 colleagues.
• Perform alterations and repairs for a wide range of fabrics and garments, including uniforms, linens, sheer curtains, and staff clothing.
• Operate and maintain sewing machines and other tools with precision and care.
• Collaborate with the housekeeping and maintenance teams to ensure the seamless flow of laundry and clothing repairs for our colleagues.
• Maintain an organized and efficient work environment, keeping track of supplies and equipment.
• Support the laundry team with daily operations including but not limited to clearing the linen chute, sorting linen and maintain the overall cleanliness and order of the laundry area

Our ideal Candidate:

• Proven experience as a Seamsperson — professional work experience is a bonus, but not required.
• Confident in sewing sheer curtains and other delicate fabrics.
• Proficiency in using sewing machines, hand sewing, and other sewing tools.
• Good knowledge of fabrics, textiles, and garment construction.
• Attention to detail and a strong sense of aesthetics.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Flexible to work a rotating roster over 7 days covering both morning and evening shift.
