We’re looking for a Machinist to operate manual machining equipment and manufacture or repair precision aerospace components. This role requires strong machining fundamentals, blueprint interpretation skills, and a commitment to producing high-quality work while maintaining safety, productivity, and efficiency standards.

Shift: 3rd shift, Sunday-Thursday 11:00p-7:30a
Shift Differential: $3.00/ hr
What You’ll Be Doing
• Set up, operate, and maintain manual machining equipment, including lathes, vertical turning lathes (VTLs), milling machines, and grinders.
• Manufacture and repair precision aerospace components to specified dimensions and tolerances.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, work instructions, and engineering documentation.
• Apply GD&T principles to ensure product conformity and quality requirements are met.
• Use precision measuring equipment, including micrometers, calipers, depth gauges, and pi tapes to inspect work.
• Align and secure tooling, fixtures, attachments, and materials for machining operations.
• Adjust machine speeds, feeds, and tooling to optimize quality and productivity.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance on equipment.
• Operate overhead cranes and material handling equipment safely.
• Maintain inspection records, production documentation, and quality records.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and maintain high housekeeping standards.
What We’re Looking For
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
• Previous experience operating manual machining equipment required.
• Ability to clearly communicate in English, including speaking, reading, writing, and understanding technical documentation.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
• Experience using precision measuring equipment and performing dimensional inspections.
• Strong knowledge of machining practices, tooling, and manufacturing processes.
• Working knowledge of GD&T principles.
• Strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
Nice to Have
• Trade school certification or formal machining education.
• Experience operating VTLs, grinding equipment, or other precision machining equipment.
• Aerospace manufacturing, repair, or MRO experience.
• Welding knowledge or experience.
• Industry-recognized machining certifications.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
• Manufacturing environment with exposure to machining equipment, moving machinery, noise, and industrial production activities.
• Regular standing, walking, reaching, lifting, and handling of materials throughout the shift.
• Frequent use of hand tools, measuring instruments, and machine controls.
• Ability to perform precision work while maintaining close attention to detail.
• Required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow all safety procedures.
This position may require work hours outside of the regularly scheduled hours to meet operational needs. This may include work during evenings, weekends, and/or holidays. Additional work hours are assigned based on business requirements. Non-exempt employees will be paid overtime in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
The salary range for this position reflects a broad spectrum of experience levels. Individual compensation within the range is determined by multiple factors, including relevant experience, education, certifications, job related skills, internal equity, and market conditions. We evaluate each candidate individually to ensure fair and competitive pay decisions.
