Wausau Tile is seeking a Seal Room Operator for our Site Furnishing department. This role is ideal for a hardworking, safety-conscious individual with mechanical aptitude and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. The Seal Room Operator will handle products in the sealing room, ensuring they are sealed or stained to specification, staged correctly, and ready for storage or shipment.
Key Responsibilities:
Sealing & Staining:
Operate spray equipment for sealing and staining products, ensuring the correct settings are used for different materials and products. Tasks are done primarily on 1st and 3rd shifts for sealing, with staining occurring on 2nd shift.
Loading & Staging:
Use a forklift and overhead crane to move products from the staging area to the sealing booths and then to storage areas, ensuring safe handling of materials.
Cleaning & Maintenance:
Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of the seal room, including changing filter media, cleaning PPE, and organizing materials.
Cross-Training:
Cross-train in other areas such as Acid Bay and blast room operations to provide backup when needed.
Tools & Equipment Used:
Forklifts and small overhead cranes
Spray equipment and booth controls
Personal protective equipment (PPE) such as filtering full-face respirators
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged standing, bending, lifting, squatting, twisting, and kneeling
Ability to lift and move objects up to 50 lbs in all directions
Repetitive motions involving hands, wrists, and other parts of the body
Ability to ascend or descend ladders and stairs as required
