The SF Pricing & Tender Mgmt Operations Associate plays a crucial role in maintaining the efficiency and accuracy of Pricing & Tender Management operations through meticulous administrative and clerical support. Managing essential office tasks, coordinating logistics activities, and providing comprehensive support to the team. This role demonstrates dependability in handling tasks, a caring attitude towards team collaboration, a proactive approach to improving processes, and a forward-thinking mindset to anticipate and solve challenges, all contributing to the operational success of the company.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepare accurate and timely ocean freight rate quotes for routed business from HWL overseas offices and network partners, based on standard Pelorus FCL and LCL tariffs, standard FOB charges, and standard drayage and trucking rates or ExWorks shipments - in standardized format and rate management system (Freightos)
Communicate with overseas offices and partners to secure local charges (origin and destination)
Daily follow up for feedback on all quotes provided via e-mail and phone
Provide consistent feedback to Product Management Ocean to ensure current/correct service, transit time, rate validity, equipment and space capacity
Handover booking requests for secured business for booking to HWL USA Operations and overseas offices
Publishes quote information, including carrier, contract #, routing and buy-sell overview to Product Operations
Escalate pricing issues for routed business to USA Sea Pricing Desk Manager
Adjust quoting parameters in conjunction with product leaders to maintain appropriate win ratios, yield levels and efficiencies
Maintain and drive KPIs to measure quoting effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity
Support execution of global, regional and trade lane SF commercial strategy and steer SF volumes to preferred carriers based on HWL preferred carrier policy
Support continuous improvement of US Sea Pricing Desk processes and quality standards
Maintain record log of rate expiration dates and proactively align with Ocean Product team on updates
Liaise with USA Ocean Product teams to ensure services, transit time, rate validity and volume capacity
Support invoicing disputes from US branches and address with SSL
Auditing carrier rates in Freightos and address corrections as needed
Analyze ocean carrier rate contracts for FCL and LCL
Additional tasks as assigned by the Team Leader

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma
1 to 3 years of previous experience in freight forwarding industry preferred
Completion of any industry related course is a plus
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Spanish
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Proficient with Microsoft Office
