Sea Freight Coordinator - Project Department (m/f/d)

Location: Hanau, Germany

Become a part of our talented deugro team, as we look for a Sea Freight Coordinator - Project Department (m/f/d) in
Hanau, Germany.

Key responsibilities:

  • Independently manage operational logistics processes, including freight calculations, handling service, information and pricing inquiries, and preparing quotations for complex project shipments
  • Plan and coordinate international shipments with a focus on intermodal transport and ocean freight – including heavy lift, oversized cargo, and FCL container movements
  • Communicate and negotiate with clients, subcontractors, shipping lines, agents, and internal stakeholders – in both German and English
  • Support and maintain relationships with domestic and international clients, including occasional travel; actively contribute to business development and client acquisition
  • Collaborate closely with internal departments such as Sales, Project Management, Chartering, Transport Engineering, Tender Management, FCL Procurement, QHSES, and Compliance to ensure smooth project execution
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as invoice preparation, shipment tracking, and KPI reporting
  • Ensure compliance with QHSE standards and company policies, including participation in trainings and safety briefings, reporting risks and incidents, and adhering to deugro Group’s Ethics and Compliance Code

Skills, knowledge and expertise:

  • Completed vocational training in freight forwarding and logistics or a comparable qualification
  • Initial professional experience in transport and logistics, ideally with knowledge of international project logistics and ocean freight
  • Solid understanding of complex transport processes, freight calculations, and quotation procedures; confident handling of international logistics operations
  • Strong team orientation, structured and proactive working style
  • Excellent organizational skills, resilience, and motivation to take on new challenges
  • Fluent in German and proficient in English (spoken and written)
  • Intercultural competence and openness to working in an international environment
