
Job Title: SE Teacher Support Specialist: Part-Time (49%)
POSITION SUMMARY: The Part-Time SE Teacher Support Specialist serves as Special Education (SE) administrative support for Special Education Teachers by assisting with case management, IEP development, compliance activities, and grade band teacher support. This position is designed to reduce SE Teachers' administrative responsibilities by allowing them to devote more time to providing specially designed instruction (SDI), lesson planning and development, collaborating with general education teachers, and improving student instructional outcomes.
The SE Teacher Support Specialist reports to the Director of Special Education and/or Assistant Director of Special Education. This position also partners closely with Grade Band Principals, SE Assistant Principals, SE Administrators, related service providers, and Special Education Teachers to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations while promoting consistent implementation of Georgia Cyber Academy's special education processes and procedures.
This position does not supervise employees but provides leadership, coaching, and technical assistance to SE grade band teachers.

? IEP Preparation: Review preliminary IEP drafts and organize available student information and documentation in preparation for upcoming IEP meetings.
? IEP Completion & Closeout: Assist teachers and grade band administrators with completion of required post-meeting documentation, IEP finalization, and compliance closeout activities.
? Compliance Timeline Monitoring: Monitor Annual Reviews, Reevaluations, Amendments, Progress Reports, and other required special education timelines and proactively communicate upcoming deadlines or concerns.
? Documentation Collection: Gather and organize required teacher input, related service information, evaluation data, parent information, student work samples, progress-monitoring documentation, and other records needed for compliant special education processes.
? IEP Compliance Review: Conduct preliminary quality-assurance reviews of assigned IEPs and supporting documentation to identify missing or incomplete required components and communicate concerns to the appropriate teacher or SE administrator.
? Progress-Monitoring Support: Assist with collecting, organizing, and tracking required IEP progress-monitoring documentation and support timely completion of progress reports.
? Grade Band Compliance Support: Provide targeted administrative and compliance support to Special Education teachers based on identified workload, documentation, and compliance needs.
PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES, COLLABORATION & PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS: The Part-Time SE Teacher Support Specialist is expected to maintain confidentiality, demonstrate professionalism and ethical conduct, remain knowledgeable of applicable special education requirements and district procedures, and work collaboratively with Special Education teachers, Grade Band administrators, and other appropriate staff. Success in this role will be demonstrated through responsive support, timely and accurate completion of assigned responsibilities, and meaningful contributions toward reducing administrative workload for Special Education teachers while supporting strong compliance practices and student services.
? Bachelor's Degree in Special Education or related field.
? Valid Georgia Special Education Teaching Certificate.
? Minimum of five (5) years of successful experience as a Special Education Teacher.
? Demonstrated knowledge of IDEA, FAPE, LRE, and Georgia Special Education Rules.
? Experience developing compliant Individualized Education Programs.
? Experience facilitating IEP meetings.
? Strong organizational and time management skills.
? Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
? Experience working collaboratively with cross-departmental teams.
? Proficiency with Google Workspace, Zoom and web-based technology platforms.
? Experience utilizing virtual instructional platforms.
? Master's Degree in Special Education or related field.
? Georgia Teacher Leader Endorsement or Educational Leadership certification.

Gemini, ChatGPT, or similar platforms) to enhance leadership, communication, workflow efficiency, data analysis, and decision-making while adhering to district policies regarding privacy, confidentiality, and responsible AI use.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: This position is a fully remote position that requires frequent virtual collaboration with district personnel across the state. In-Person meetings, professional development and other events may be required.
The position requires prolonged periods of sitting, computer work, virtual meeting facilitation, and occasional lifting of instructional materials or equipment up to 25 pounds.
