ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join our team. This role will focus on backend API automation and developing custom tools to solve day-to-day challenges using open-source tools and incorporating AI-driven solutions where applicable. You will be responsible for creating robust automation frameworks, automating backend API tests, and leveraging new technologies to optimize and improve our testing and development processes.

The ideal candidate is a problem-solver who can think outside the box, suggest multiple potential solutions to challenges, and work both independently and collaboratively. You should possess strong technical expertise, deep knowledge of QA processes, and the ability to unblock yourself and peers to keep the team moving forward.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Tool Development and Automation Frameworks:

• Develop custom tools and automation scripts to streamline day-to-day processes, increase testing efficiency, and reduce manual efforts. This could include tools for logging, reporting, monitoring, or performance testing.
• Leverage open-source libraries and frameworks, as well as AI/ML techniques, to automate repetitive tasks, analyze large datasets, and improve test coverage.
• Constantly evaluate new tools and technologies that can be integrated into the testing ecosystem to enhance testing speed, accuracy, and scalability.

2. CI/CD Integration:

• Integrate automated API tests into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI) to ensure tests are executed with every code change and that results are immediately available for developers.
• Ensure that automated tests run reliably and efficiently in the pipeline, helping maintain fast release cycles.

3. Continuous Improvement:

• Drive continuous improvement in the quality assurance process by suggesting improvements in automation frameworks, processes, and tools.
• Keep up to date with the latest trends in testing, open-source tools, and AI/ML technologies to bring innovative ideas into the testing process.
• Ensure that automated tests run reliably and efficiently in the pipeline, helping maintain fast release cycles.

4. Problem Solving and Innovation:

• Strong ability to think critically and out of the box when solving complex problems.
• Ability to generate multiple solutions for any given problem and assess the trade-offs between different approaches.

ADDITIONAL SKILLS

• Experience with performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner).
• Knowledge of mobile test automation tools such as Appium
• Familiarity with cloud-based testing environments and services (AWS, Azure, etc.).
• Experience in the game industry or with game-specific automation is a plus.
• Familiarity with containerization tools like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes for managing test environments.
• Experience of 5 to 8 years
