Our Engineering Environment
We have an extremely active, fast-paced development environment with a strong engineering culture built around continuous delivery, automation, ownership, and collaboration.
This is not an environment where releases happen once every few weeks. We deploy to production continuously throughout the day-often on an hourly basis. Engineers regularly see their work move from development to production very quickly.

• Our developers are expected to be comfortable with:
• Frequent production deployments and short development cycles
• Taking ownership of features from development through production
• Working in an environment with a high level of automation
• TDD as part of the actual production development process
• Pair programming and close collaboration with other engineers
• Making incremental changes rather than waiting for large release cycles
• Quickly investigating and resolving production issues when needed
• Continuously improving engineering practices, tools, and processes

We are specifically looking for someone who enjoys this level of development activity and is comfortable working in a highly dynamic production environment.

Responsibilities:

• You have a strong history of solving non-trivial technical and business problems in previous projects.
• You have a broad technology background beyond purely backend development - for example, exposure to frontend, DevOps, infrastructure/operations, mobile development, or related areas.
• You understand how different technologies and systems interact and can connect technical decisions with domain and business requirements.
• You are comfortable taking ownership rather than working only on narrowly defined tickets.
• You have experience working in the US fintech domain.
• You are comfortable with a development culture where code reaches production very frequently.
  
• You enjoy solving complex business and technical problems.
• You want to experiment with development processes, techniques, and tools.
• You are interested in continuous improvement and automation.
• You prefer a fast engineering environment with minimal bureaucracy.
• You enjoy seeing your work reach production quickly rather than waiting for scheduled release cycles.
• You value engineering collaboration, including pair programming and TDD.

Requirements:

• 6+ years of experience developing web applications.
• 3+ years of experience with IoC/DI frameworks such as Spring, Quarkus, Micronaut, or similar.
• Hands-on TDD experience in production - must have.
• Hands-on pair programming experience.
• Strong understanding of microservices architecture.
• Experience with Git, Gradle, Jenkins, Bitbucket Pipelines, or similar CI/CD tooling.
• Experience with industry-standard API security protocols, including OAuth; Keycloak experience is a plus.
• Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or similar.
• Understanding of asynchronous, message-based communication using Kafka, GCP Pub/Sub, AWS SNS/SQS, or similar; Kafka experience is preferred.
• Strong Agile/Scrum/Kanban development experience.
• Experience integrating third-party systems through XML/JSON APIs.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure; AWS is preferred.
• Kubernetes experience is a plus.
• Strong English communication skills.
