On behalf of SciPlay, SD Solutions is looking for a talented Senior DevOps Engineer to maintain and evolve our core infrastructure stack. This role is responsible for the reliability, security, performance, and scalability of our infrastructure, including compute, virtualization, networking, storage, load balancing, databases, and observability.

Our current on-prem infrastructure includes a traditional LAMP stack, Couchbase, VMware, F5, Pure Storage SANsolutions, and Grafana-based observability. The right candidate will be strong in classic infrastructure engineering and systems administration, while also bringing a modernization mindset as we continue moving toward containers, Kubernetes, and an internal developer platform.

Responsibilities:

• Design, maintain, and optimize our network infrastructure, including virtualization, networking, storage, and application delivery. The ideal candidate will be heavily involved in our on-prem infrastructure, but also has cloud experience.
• Administer and support Linux-based production systems powering our game servers.
• Monitor system health, availability, capacity, and performance; build dashboards, alerts, and operational runbooks.
• Lead troubleshooting efforts across infrastructure layers, including network, DNS, TLS, firewalls, load balancing, storage, operating systems, and application connectivity.
• Support and optimize database-backed platforms, including both relational and document-based systems.
• Partner with software engineering teams to improve deployment patterns, reliability, environment consistency, and operational supportability.
• Implement and maintain system hardening, patching, backup, disaster recovery, and access control practices.
• Create and improve automation for provisioning, configuration management, maintenance, and incident response.
• Document architecture, operational standards, recovery procedures, and infrastructure changes.
• Participate in on-call or escalation support for critical production infrastructure issues.
• Contribute to infrastructure roadmap planning, capacity forecasting, lifecycle management, and technical standards.

Requirements:

• 10+ years of experience in systems administration, infrastructure engineering, or network engineering roles in production environments.
• Strong hands-on experience administering Linux servers in enterprise environments.
• Deep understanding of TCP/IP networking, routing, switching, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, NAT, VPNs, firewalls, and SSL/TLS.
• Experience managing and troubleshooting load balancers, preferably F5 BIG-IP.
• Strong experience with VM administration, including host, cluster, and resource management.
• Experience with enterprise storage/SAN platforms, such as Pure Storage or similar solutions.
• Experience supporting web infrastructure such as Apache, PHP, MySQL/MariaDB, and related components in a LAMP environment.
• Experience with Couchbase or similar NoSQL platforms.
• Experience with infrastructure monitoring and observability platforms such as Grafana, Prometheus, or equivalent tooling.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across systems, networks, storage, and application infrastructure.
• Experience writing scripts or automation in Ansible, Bash, Python, or similar.
• Strong documentation, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Advantages:

• Experience with containers and orchestration platforms such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code and configuration management tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or similar.
• Experience building or supporting CI/CD pipelines and developer enablement workflows.
• Exposure to platform engineering concepts or work on an internal developer platform.
• Experience with GitOps, service discovery, ingress controllers, secrets management, or policy enforcement in Kubernetes environments.
• Familiarity with hybrid cloud or public cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS.
• Experience standardizing self-service infrastructure workflows for engineering teams.
• Knowledge of security best practices, vulnerability remediation, and compliance-oriented infrastructure controls.
