More action, less talk

You will use Agile-based approaches such as Scrum, Lean and Kanban to lead and facilitate self-organising and high performing teams to plan and deliver IT change initiatives.

Key Objectives

  • Establish strong practices, processes and behaviours for team members to evolve into high performing teams.

  • Provide practical, hands-on training and guidance to team members less experienced in the use of Agile.

  • Facilitate ceremonies such as daily stand-ups, sprint planning, release planning, showcases, retrospectives, etc.

  • Assist the Product Owners in prioritising and maintaining the product backlog.

  • Facilitate discussion, decision making and conflict resolution within the team and with stakeholders external to the Scrum team.

  • Maintain relevant metrics to monitor, control, manage and report progress and forecasts.

  • Identify and promote best practice and standards in Agile in conjunction with the Project Management Framework adopted by the Bank.

  • Collaborate with the Leadership team to oversee and maintain project plans, timelines, resource allocations, and risk assessments, ensuring alignment with organisational governance frameworks.

  • Identify, document, and proactively manage risks, issues, and dependencies, ensuring timely resolution and appropriate escalation

  • Track action items, including ownership and due dates, to ensure progress and accountability across all deliverables

  • Engage and coordinate with senior leadership, steering committees, and a broad range of internal and external stakeholders

  • Consolidate and manage inputs from multiple teams and contributors to ensure cohesive delivery outcomes

  • Take accountability for implementation phases, ensuring deliverables are completed on time and any delays are mitigated and escalated appropriately

Your background

To be successful in this critical role you will possess:

  • Experience in leading a team as a Scrum Master, Agile PM, Trainer or Coach in a technology infrastructure or software development environment.

  • Thorough understanding of Agile principles, values and practices.

  • Strong facilitation, stakeholder management, communication and leadership skills.

  • Facilitation skills, situational awareness and conflict resolution skills.

  • An understanding of financial services, systems, standards and operations.

  • Experience dealing with external parties is desirable.

  • First and or Second Level Scrum Master Certification.

Please note that this is not a traditional project management role and does not involve line management responsibilities.

Corporate Services Group is responsible for the effective provision of information technology, workplace, and data management services to support the delivery of the Bank’s policy, operational and corporate objectives.

In this role you will report to and work closely work with Senior Leaders and Program Managers to facilitate the establishment of frameworks, practices, and processes to deliver high quality and timely outcomes to meet the current and future needs of the Bank.
