Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Scrum Master to support Agile Transformation and Product Delivery across enterprise software, digital platforms, ERP modernization, cloud transformation, data, AI, automation, and related technology initiatives. This role is responsible for strengthening Agile ways of working, improving delivery predictability, enabling scalable Agile practices, and helping teams deliver measurable business value through modern product-oriented delivery.
As a Scrum Master, you will serve as a servant leader, Agile coach, transformation partner, and delivery facilitator for one or more cross-functional Agile teams. You will work closely with Product Owners, Product Managers, Engineering Leaders, Business Analysts, Architects, QA, DevOps, Security, PMO partners, vendors, and business stakeholders to establish healthy team operating rhythms, improve backlog readiness, remove impediments, manage dependencies, and foster a culture of accountability, transparency, psychological safety, and continuous learning.
This position is primarily an individual contributor role with significant cross-functional leadership responsibilities, supporting the continued maturation of Agile Transformation and Product Delivery practices within the IT Delivery organization. The role is expected to help establish repeatable standards for Scrum ceremonies, Kanban flow, team working agreements, Definition of Ready, Definition of Done, estimation, sprint planning, dependency management, Agile metrics, retrospective improvement actions, and scaled delivery practices as the organization continues to mature toward enterprise Agile and product-centric ways of working.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as Scrum Master for one or more cross-functional Agile teams delivering enterprise software, digital products, ERP modernization, cloud transformation, data, AI, automation, or technology modernization initiatives.
- Facilitate Scrum ceremonies including Sprint Planning, Daily Scrums, Sprint Reviews, Sprint Retrospectives, and Backlog Refinement while ensuring events remain focused, productive, and aligned with Agile principles.
- Coach teams to become self-organizing, cross-functional, collaborative, accountable, and focused on sustainable delivery practices.
- Remove organizational, process, technical, and dependency-related impediments that impact delivery commitments, team flow, or business outcomes.
- Protect teams from unnecessary disruption, unclear priorities, and avoidable scope changes while maintaining transparency with stakeholders.
- Establish newly formed Agile teams by defining team norms, working agreements, operating models, ceremonies, roles, responsibilities, and collaboration practices.
- Assess Agile maturity and implement tailored coaching strategies that improve team performance, delivery predictability, collaboration, estimation accuracy, and team health.
- Mentor teams transitioning from Waterfall or hybrid delivery approaches to Agile, Scrum, Kanban, Lean, and product-centric delivery practices.
- Coach Product Owners on backlog management, prioritization, user story refinement, acceptance criteria, stakeholder engagement, and value-driven planning.
- Partner with Product Managers, Engineering Managers, Delivery Leaders, Business Analysts, QA, DevOps, Architecture, Security, PMO partners, vendors, and business stakeholders to improve Agile execution across multiple teams.
- Guide teams in establishing effective Definition of Ready and Definition of Done standards that improve sprint readiness, quality, and delivery outcomes.
- Provide coaching on Agile estimation techniques including Planning Poker, T-shirt sizing, affinity estimation, story points, capacity planning, and forecasting.
- Support scaled Agile practices across Agile Release Trains, value streams, product teams, and enterprise delivery organizations operating within SAFe, LeSS, Scrum@Scale, or similar frameworks.
- Participate in Program Increment planning, cross-team planning, Scrum of Scrums, dependency discussions, risk reviews, and delivery alignment sessions.
- Assist Release Train Engineers, delivery leads, and portfolio partners in managing risks, dependencies, objectives, commitments, and impediments across teams.
- Support portfolio planning, Lean Portfolio Management, Agile governance, product roadmap alignment, and value stream coordination as the organization scales delivery practices.
- Promote iterative delivery over traditional project-driven execution by helping teams improve responsiveness to changing business priorities and customer needs.
- Support digital transformation initiatives by introducing modern Agile delivery practices across cloud migration, ERP modernization, automation, data transformation, AI initiatives, integrations, and enterprise software implementations.
- Lead retrospective facilitation using practical and advanced techniques that identify improvement opportunities, promote experimentation, and create measurable action plans.
- Track Agile delivery metrics including velocity trends, team capacity, predictability, burndown, burnup, lead time, cycle time, flow efficiency, throughput, escaped defects, release frequency, dependency aging, team health, and stakeholder satisfaction.
- Translate Agile metrics into meaningful coaching opportunities and continuous improvement plans rather than using metrics as performance management tools.
- Identify delivery risks early, escalate organizational impediments appropriately, coordinate cross-team dependencies, and facilitate risk mitigation planning.
- Build Agile Communities of Practice, mentor junior Scrum Masters and Agile champions, and help standardize Agile practices while allowing flexibility for team context.
Requirements:
- 10+ years of professional experience in Agile delivery, software delivery, project management, technology delivery, Agile coaching, or a related IT discipline within a mid-to-large enterprise environment.
- 7+ years serving as a Scrum Master in enterprise environments, including experience supporting multiple Scrum teams simultaneously.
- Experience establishing new Agile teams from inception, defining team norms, launching ceremonies, building working agreements, and guiding teams through forming, storming, norming, and performing stages.
- Experience coaching mature Agile teams to higher levels of delivery performance, predictability, collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.

- Working knowledge of software development lifecycle practices, CI/CD pipelines, DevOps concepts, cloud platforms, APIs, microservices, enterprise architecture concepts, ERP implementations, data platforms, Business Intelligence initiatives, and enterprise modernization programs.
- Hands-on software development experience is not required, but an understanding of modern engineering practices, technical dependencies, quality practices, release readiness, and operational handoffs is expected.
- Proficiency with Agile and collaboration tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, Rally, VersionOne, Confluence, Miro, Microsoft Teams, Slack, SharePoint, Power BI, Smartsheet, or similar delivery and reporting platforms.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, including risk assessment, problem solving, prioritization, decision facilitation, systems thinking, and delivery performance analysis.
- Excellent facilitation, communication, active listening, negotiation, relationship building, stakeholder management, and executive presentation skills.
- Demonstrated servant leadership, organizational influence, coaching and mentoring ability, conflict resolution, emotional intelligence, consensus building, and change leadership.
- Ability to balance standardization and flexibility so Agile practices remain consistent enough to scale while adaptable enough to fit each team’s context.
- Self-motivated, collaborative, adaptable, empathetic, accountable, and customer-focused, with the ability to work independently while influencing across teams and leadership levels.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, Business Administration, Engineering, Organizational Leadership, Project Management, or a related discipline; equivalent experience may be considered. Master’s degree preferred.
