From our legendary Roadside assistance to electric vehicle charging networks, holiday parks and lodges, car rentals, and harbour transport and ocean cruising we are striving to make a difference that contributes to a brighter shared future for all Australians.

We’re looking for an experienced and collaborative Scrum Master to join our Membership Digital team.

In this role, you’ll play a key part in championing agile ways of working across a digital squad, helping teams deliver with clarity, confidence and momentum. You’ll facilitate agile ceremonies, remove delivery blockers, track progress and coach squads through challenges, while bringing a continuous improvement mindset to everything you do.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working at the centre of delivery, technology, people and change, and who can bring structure, energy and calm to a fast-moving squad environment.

This full-time permanent role offers a hybrid work arrangement across our Sydney Olympic Park, Sydney CBD offices and working from home, as agreed and required for the role.

What You'll Do

As Scrum Master, you’ll help create the conditions for your squad to do their best work. You’ll guide agile delivery practices, support collaboration across teams and stakeholders, and help ensure the squad stays focused on delivering meaningful outcomes. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Facilitate agile scrum ceremonies including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, refinement, reviews and retrospectives.

  • Act as a change agent on the squad, ensuring squads adhere to the agile development methodology and encouraging continuous process improvement.

  • Remove impediments and shield the development team from external interference to ensure work is delivered on schedule.

  • Manage the release process and coordinate with other squads and teams for external dependencies.

  • Track squad velocity and performance, identifying opportunities for delivery improvement and keeping the squad on track to deliver goals.

  • Champion the agile mindset and ways of working to drive a culture of flexibility, collaboration and continuous improvement.

  • Encourage the squad through challenges and conflict, fostering a positive and productive learning environment.

  • Provide support to the squad using a servant leadership style wherever possible, leading by example through transparency, accountability and collaboration to optimise delivery outcomes.

  • Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment that encourages creativity and continuous improvement.

  • Facilitate effective communication and coordination across cross-functional teams, ensuring seamless collaboration and knowledge sharing.

  • Collaborate with various business units and departments, communicating delivery progress and performance to senior management and other stakeholders.

What You'll Bring

  • A Bachelor’s degree and 3-5 years of Scrum Master experience, including Certified Scrum Master accreditation

  • 3+ years of technology or product development experience

  • Expert understanding of scrum and agile methodologies

  • Experience working with Agile Project Management tools such as Confluence and JIRA

  • Solid understanding of the software development life cycle

  • Proven experience working in a complex, matrix environment, managing multiple stakeholders

  • Demonstrated experience managing large-scale, complex programs

  • Strong negotiation and issue resolution skills

  • Ability to interact, manage and influence key stakeholders, including executive team members.

Having over 3.2 million Members, we’re Australia's largest member-owned organisation, and have grown into one of the country's largest tourism, leisure, and travel businesses, with investments in accommodation, car hire, ferries, experiences and more. We’ve done this by putting our people, Members and customers at the centre of everything we do to deliver great experiences – something that has always set us apart.

From our earliest Patrols, we’ve been passionate about helping people on the road, but we now also help millions on our waterways, on their holidays, and on all of their journeys. Tales of our legendary service embody the sense of mateship and levels of care that the people of our nations have become known for the world over.

As a workplace, we foster a culture of innovation, growth and wellbeing – one that respects and celebrates diversity in all its forms, creating an environment where all people can feel they truly belong and thrive. We do this because we know that, when put together, our individual talent and uniqueness is what makes us great at what we do. We do this because it makes our place a great place to be.
