We give you a world of potential

We have an exciting opportunity for a SCRIP Business Analyst to join Computershare’s technology Services department in Edinburgh.

In this role, you will partner with business stakeholders to elicit requirements, proactively contributing to the Analyst community – contribute ideas, embrace change, share knowledge and collaborate with a network of stakeholders.

Why is this role exciting? Well, there are a few things that make this role stand out:

  • Work as part of a product-focused, cross-functional delivery team where you will build open and trusted relationships with your team and stakeholders
  • Be part of a supportive, collaborative team that values their employees
  • Contribute to a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous improvement, where your input makes a real impact

A role you will love

In this position you will lead and facilitate structured workshops with stakeholders and end users to identify and prioritise requirements. Working within a team, you will use a broad toolkit of analysis and modelling techniques to elaborate requirements.

You will play a pivotal role in producing and presenting high quality communications, presentations and visualisations. Representing the team among the wider project and department, engaging with key stakeholders, demonstrating software and acquiring feedback.

Some key responsibilities:

  • Use a range of analysis techniques and facilitate collaborative sessions to elicit requirements from key stakeholders.
  • Use agile practices to stay responsive to business needs and to deliver value incrementally - find innovative ways to solve problems and to shape the delivery.
  • Represent your delivery team among the wider department, providing vision and direction to your delivery team based on project demands and input from key stakeholders.
  • Write high-quality, clear user stories and acceptance criteria to form a well organised product backlog that is prioritised according to business objectives, from which the development team can estimate/size, plan and deliver changes.
  • Become a domain expert within your business line and associated systems.
  • Communicate effectively with a variety of technical and non-technical audiences to share knowledge and complex ideas, provide updates, influence, challenge, and take on feedback.
  • Make and honor commitments as part of a cross-functional team - request help when needed and ask teammates what you can do to help them.

What will you bring to the role?

You will have proven ability of successfully gathering requirements and gaining results with minimal supervision, to understand the needs of Computershare’s business and technology stakeholders, defining the changes required to deliver solutions.

We are looking for someone that collaborates and communicates well, builds great working relationships, influences others, challenges effectively and responds well to challenge from others, shares information and ideas and has good listening skills.

You will have excellent analytical and research skills with the ability to collect and analyse complex material/data and present it in accessible formats. Along with experience of Agile software development – working in a team-oriented and collaborative environment, encouraging the adoption and continuous improvement of practices.

Other key skills & experience:

  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients.
  • Exposure to Financial systems is highly regarded.
  • A degree in Computing, Business, Information Systems or equivalent is desirable.
  • Certification as a Business Analyst practitioner or equivalent is desirable.
  • Has a strong work ethic and is able to deal with sometimes conflicting priorities.
  • Curious and continuous learner – investigates, interprets and grasps new concepts.
  • Self-motivated and can use own initiative to recommend innovative solutions.

  • Pays attention to detail, finds root cause and takes a rigorous approach to problem solving.
