First Urology is looking for a Medical Scribe for our Dupont Office. This position will assist our physicians with entering medical information in the EMR system and assist with check-in/check-out functions. They will be responsible for transcribing patient appointments and documenting physician-patient interactions, including taking notes during patient interviews, entering information into a patient database and writing notes that the physician has dictated. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic healthcare environment where your contributions directly impact patient care.
Responsibilities:
- Record patient histories, current symptoms, physician observations, and physical examination findings as they occur.
- Enter medical information into the patient's EMR, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with all relevant policies and procedures.
- Document all procedures performed, as well as the results of lab work and other diagnostic tests.
- Help with tasks such as writing referral letters, scheduling appointments, and preparing for upcoming patient visits by organizing charts.
- Serve as an extension of the physician during the patient visit, allowing the provider to focus solely on direct patient care.
- Adhere to all relevant medical laws, regulations, and privacy guidelines, including HIPAA.
- Serve as a liaison between the physician, nurses, and other members of the care team, ensuring that necessary information is readily available for treatment decisions.
Job Type: Full-time
Schedule: Monday to Friday (Day shift)
Required Qualifications:
- Prior medical knowledge and experience (required).
- One-year medical terminology (required).
- Computer Skills (required).
- Excellent spelling and typing skills with attention to detail.
- Able to communicate effectively with physicians.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in using EMR medical software and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent (required).
