The opportunity:
The SCM & Logistic Specialist at Hitachi will be responsible for optimizing and managing the end-to-end supply chain and logistics operations to ensure efficient material flow, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery of products and services.
How you’ll make an impact:
You will develop, implement, and monitor supply chain strategies to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance customer satisfaction.
You will manage inventory levels, including forecasting demand, planning procurement, and optimizing warehouse operations, coordinate with suppliers, manufacturers, distributors to ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods.
You will negotiate contracts and establish strong relationships with logistics providers, freight forwarders, and customs brokers, analyze supply chain data to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, areas for improvement, implementing solutions as needed.
You will oversee transportation and distribution activities, including route planning, carrier selection, and tracking shipments.
You will ensure compliance with all relevant international and domestic trade regulations, customs requirements, and company policies, collaborate with internal departments such as production, sales, and finance to align supply chain activities with business objectives.
You will implement and maintain supply chain management systems and tools to enhance visibility and control, prepare reports and presentations on supply chain performance, key metrics, and strategic initiatives.
You will be responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your background:
Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
10+ years of experience in supply chain management, logistics, or a similar role within a manufacturing or technology-focused industry.
Certification in Supply Chain Management (e.g., CSCP, CPIM) is a plus. Proficiency in supply chain management software (e.g., ERP systems, SAP) and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
Proven experience with inventory management, demand forecasting, and warehouse operations.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Strong understanding of international trade regulations, customs procedures, and transportation modes and excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Strong negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
