Job Description

Eurofins is seeking a Scientist to join our Analytical Testing team in a GMP-regulated laboratory environment. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career scientist to apply their analytical laboratory experience while developing expertise in analytical instrumentation, troubleshooting, and data analysis.

The Scientist will support analytical testing for biologics, cell and gene therapies, vaccines, and other pharmaceutical products. The successful candidate will perform laboratory testing, operate and troubleshoot analytical instrumentation, evaluate scientific data, and maintain accurate documentation in accordance with established quality systems and regulatory requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform routine analytical testing using HPLC, Karl Fischer (KF), osmolality, and other analytical techniques.
• Prepare samples, standards, reagents, and controls according to approved methods and procedures.
• Operate, monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain analytical instrumentation.
• Review and evaluate analytical data for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with specifications.
• Utilize chromatography data systems and laboratory software to collect, process, and report results.
• Maintain accurate, complete, and GMP-compliant laboratory records and electronic documentation.
• Support investigations involving instrument performance, out-of-specification results, deviations, and atypical findings.
• Support analytical method qualification, validation, verification, and transfer activities.
• Assist with method troubleshooting and laboratory process improvements.
• Perform work in accordance with GMP, GDP, GLP, ALCOA+, and established quality systems.
• Support audits, inspections, and quality initiatives as needed.
• Collaborate with project managers, quality assurance, laboratory management, and scientific teams to support client programs and project timelines.
• Communicate testing status, observations, and analytical findings clearly and effectively.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, or a related scientific field.
• Hands-on experience with HPLC operation and troubleshooting.
• Experience operating analytical laboratory instrumentation.
• Ability to review and interpret analytical data.
• Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• 1-2 years of laboratory experience.
• Experience working in a GMP-regulated environment.
• Experience with Empower or similar chromatography data systems.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
• Experience working independently while collaborating effectively within a team.
• Experience interacting with customers, cross-functional teams, and management.

Additional Information

Position is full-time, Monday through Friday, 8 am-5 pm, with overtime as needed. Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of San Diego, CA are encouraged to apply.

Pay range is $27.5/h to 31.5/h depending on related experience and background.
