As part of the Reagent Sciences Group in Advanced Science, you will work in a dynamic, team-oriented environment and participate in the creation of new sequencing technologies and related applications. You will be a key contributor to multidisciplinary teams developing and improving leading-edge technology platforms. You will plan, initiate, and execute scientific research and help with development strategies and product launches in collaboration with the research staff and through individual studies.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Participate in multi-disciplinary projects with biochemists, materials & surface scientists, bioinformatics scientists, and engineers to develop new next-generation sequencing products.

  • Execute planned experiments/analysis of moderate to advanced complexity, perform chemical and biochemical testing and use insights to help troubleshoot problems.

  • Collect, organize and analyze large data sets and distill key conclusions in consultation with project leaders.

  • Contribute ideas for meeting project goals.

  • Work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Engage in clear and concise communication with colleagues, project leaders and supervisors. Present findings in small and large technical meetings.

Required Skills, Experience & Education:

  • Typically requires BSc: 0 to 2 years of of relevant experience.

  • Preferred majors: Biochemistry, Chemistry, Bioengineering, Chemical Engineering, Biophysics or other related disciplines.

  • Experience in nucleic acid biochemistry and DNA amplification technologies.

  • Hands-on experience with analytical instrumentations and methods for characterization of molecules and biomolecules (e.g., pH meters, qPCR, gel electrophoresis, microscopy, UV-Vis and fluorescence spectroscopy).

  • Basic understanding of statistics, such as statistical significance, replicates, controls

  • Working knowledge of common programs and applications such as Word and Excel. Willingness to learn new software programs to organize, analyze, and interpret data.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Good organization skills with a detailed orientated mindset.

  • Motivated, enthusiastic, hard-working, cheerful individual who wants to be part of a fast-paced and dynamic technology development Team.

Preferred Skills:

  • NGS sequencing & library constructions

  • Design & applications of oligonucleotides

  • Experience with enzyme characterization methods (HPLC, DLS, DSF, Bioanalyzer, Thermal Melt and Chemical Melt)

  • Coding

The estimated base salary range for the Scientist 1 role based in the United States of America is: $62,900 - $94,300. Should the level or location of the role change during the hiring process, the applicable base pay range may be updated accordingly. The range reflects long‑term growth in the role; therefore, most candidates are hired between the minimum and middle of the range. Placement depends on experience, skills, location, and internal equity. Additionally, all employees are eligible for one of our variable cash programs (bonus or commission) and eligible roles may receive equity as part of the compensation package.
