Egypt Education Platform is searching for an experienced and dynamic Science Head of Department (HOD) for our French School at Madinaty Integrated Language School This leadership role is ideal for a passionate educator with a strong background in science education and the ability to inspire both students and fellow teachers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Science Department, developing a comprehensive curriculum that aligns with the French national education standards.
- Inspire and support staff in delivering high-quality science instruction and promoting a culture of excellence in teaching and learning.
- Oversee the planning and implementation of effective teaching strategies, assessments, and evaluation methods to enhance student achievement.
- Facilitate professional development opportunities for staff to strengthen their pedagogical practices and knowledge of current scientific advancements.
- Monitor and assess departmental performance, setting goals and ensuring strategies are in place to address any areas for improvement.
- Cultivate a collaborative and collegial environment where teachers can share best practices and work together to enhance student engagement in science.
- Engage with parents and the larger school community to promote awareness and interest in the sciences.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Science Education or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Extensive teaching experience, with a minimum of 3-5 years in a leadership or HOD role within a school.
- Fluency in French is essential, with a strong understanding of the French educational system.
- Proven ability to develop and implement effective science curricula aligned with national standards.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to fostering a positive learning environment and supporting teacher development.
