Job Description

General Function and Description:

The School Site Coordinator - PT is responsible for leadership, facility and child safety, site programming and operations, and administrative compliance. At school sites, youth receive targeted services in a safe, supportive environment from staff who believe in the organization’s mission. The Club experience focuses on three priority outcomes: Academic Success, Healthy Lifestyles, and Positive Citizenship.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES

Leadership

  • Competent and credible leader others choose to follow
  • Define vision clearly and how to get there
  • Execute strategy and consistently achieve results
  • Coach team to improve performance, solve problems and grow careers
  • Work with leadership and management to assist in carrying out responsibilities on personnel matters.

Facility and Child Safety

  • Accountable for adherence to all organizational health and safety policies and implementation of all safety practices and procedures at assigned site
  • Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect members, staff, equipment, materials, and facilities. Abide by facility maintenance protocols and procedures to ensure compliance
  • Accountable for reporting incidents and completing documentation within required timeline
  • Maintain discipline, de-escalate conflict between members and/or others
  • Accountable for promoting and maintaining a culture of safety in program area(s)
  • Obtain and renew CPR and First Aid certification by deadline

Administrative Compliance

  • Complete all required reports and administrative duties on time.
  • Collect and manage required data and internal and external reporting. Ensure accuracy of data and reporting. Ensure the effective completion of all assessment and measurement activities of programs
  • Comply with all administrative policies and procedures, processes and controls
  • Accountable for accurate and timely collection and review of membership application
  • Accountable for accurate and timely paperwork, reports, and data entry
  • Accountable for utilizing all BGCGTC communication tools regularly and effectively
  • Maintain current director level certification through State of Texas licensing

Site Programming and Operations

  • Accountable for oversight of programming and activities in all areas of school site operation
  • Accountable for program quality, effectiveness, and management across all areas of the school site operations
  • Accountable for enforcing all security, safety, and health protocols
  • Oversee implementation of all BGCGTC operational policies and procedures
  • Accountable for following all licensing requirements mandated by the State of Texas

Relationships

  • Be a positive role model
  • Maintain emotional control and make good decisions under pressure
  • Represent the Boys & Girls Club in a positive manner
  • Effectively manage external relationships with key stakeholders (school staff, parents, etc.

Attendance

  • Regular attendance is required; arrive on time, work required hours/shift, and leave at scheduled time

NONESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Complete all other duties as assigned
Requirements

Education and Work Experience Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent; some college preferred
  • Minimum 6 months experience working with youth
  • Must meet state licensing requirements for licensed childcare site director

Minimum Qualifications Requirements:

  • Ability to work during program hours
  • Ability to be a positive role model
  • Ability to establish rapport and build relationships
  • Ability to relate to at-risk youth
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
  • Must be able to obtain CPR and First Aid certification
  • Must be able to pass agency background screens and drug screen at any time

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to facilitate, teach, or instruct
  • Bilingual
  • Currently certified in CPR/First Aid
  • Knowledge of various program areas such as healthy lifestyles, culture and arts, academics, social development and teen interests
  • Work experience with or program knowledge of the Boys & Girls Club Movement (national and/or local Club) is an advantage

  • Physical demands: The usual and customary methods of performing the job’s functions require the following demands: must be able to remain in stationary position seldom; frequently move about facility to interact with members and staff; occasionally operate a computer and other office equipment such as a copy machine, scanner, printer and the like; frequently communicates with staff, members, and parents to conduct regular business operations; seldom move boxes or other items weighing up to 25 pounds; seldom to occasional operation and use of software and computer applications required for business functions; occasionally spend time in concentration reviewing and entering information into computer; ability to understand, remember, and communicate routine, factual information; ability to organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology; ability to apply common sense in performing job; ability to understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines; and ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide, and record, balance, and check results for accuracy.
  • Work environment: This job is performed in Boys & Girls Club facilities similar to youth recreational facility or community center, public housing facility or in local school site. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud and at times moderate or very loud. Work sites are located in low income areas, challenging neighborhoods, and growth neighborhoods. Position may require employees to work with challenging youth and family members; speak with or assist upset parents/guardians; may be exposed to emotional outbursts from youth or their family members, and at times work in inclement weather. Constantly supervise youth/members. May be exposed to infectious disease, must follow safety protocols.
