Melbourne-based | Field sales role | $75K–$80K base + super + performance commission
Are you a confident relationship builder who enjoys being out in the market, creating opportunities and converting interest into outcomes?
Torrens University Australia is looking for two School Sales Advisors to join our Student Recruitment team in Melbourne. This is a field-based, sales-led role focused on building pathways between schools and Torrens University, helping students explore their study options and take the next step toward their future.
You will work with schools that are already part of our pipeline, strengthening existing relationships and growing new opportunities across your assigned territory. You will connect with career advisers, teachers, school leaders, students and parents to generate quality leads and support students through to enrolment.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys sales, travel, presentations, events and meaningful conversations with future students.
What’s the role?
As a School Sales Advisor, you will represent Torrens University across schools, expos, career events and student engagement activities throughout the Melbourne area.
You will be responsible for developing school relationships, generating quality student leads, supporting students through their decision-making journey and contributing to enrolment outcomes across all course areas.
This is not a desk-based role. You will spend a large part of the year on the road visiting schools, attending expos and building relationships in your territory.
The rhythm of the role
This role operates across two main recruitment sprints:
- March to September – Schools and events sprint: This is the high-activity, field-based period. You will spend most of your time visiting schools, attending expos, delivering presentations, building relationships and generating quality student leads.
- September to February – Conversion and pipeline sprint This period focuses more heavily on following up leads, building your future pipeline, supporting applications and converting student interest into enrolments.
Throughout both sprints, you will work as a sales advisor, managing your territory, building momentum and staying focused on student recruitment outcomes.
What you’ll be doing
In this role, you will:
- Manage an assigned Melbourne territory of schools and contacts.
- Visit schools already connected to our pipeline and strengthen those relationships.
- Build relationships with career advisers, teachers, school leaders, students and parents.
- Attend expos, school career fairs, information sessions and student engagement events.

- Generate quality student leads across all course areas and verticals.
- Follow up with prospective students and support them from interest through to enrolment.

- Collaborate with admissions, enrolments, marketing and student recruitment teams.
- Support Open Days, campus events and other recruitment activities when required.
- Identify growth opportunities within your territory, including schools that have not yet been fully engaged.
What success looks like
- Success in this role comes from consistency, confidence and strong relationship management.
- You will be comfortable building trust quickly, presenting to groups, managing a territory and following up with students after events. You will know how to turn conversations into leads, and leads into enrolment opportunities.

- High performers in this role can achieve strong total earnings, with potential around $160K per year depending on performance, targets, eligibility and commission plan terms.
