School of Pharmacy - Student Lab and Office Assistant

Employment Type Student Employee Hourly Rate $10.00

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Communicate with faculty and staff to ensure that skills laboratory and classroom activities are set up, restocked, and cleaned up in a timely manner.
  • Conduct routine testing of eyewash/safety shower stations and equipment alarm systems.
  • Prepare media/reagents, aliquot solutions, and handle chemicals.
  • Move/distribute equipment, models, supplies, and glassware. May need to lift up to 25lbs.
  • Clean laboratory benches, equipment, supplies, and glassware as needed.
  • Collect, segregate, and/or dispose of laboratory wastes properly.
  • Complete work assignments safely using necessary personal protective equipment and other safety devices.
  • Perform other general laboratory and office support tasks as assigned.
  • Copy, scan, index, and file documents.
  • Data entry, document creation, and other computer work with Micro Office Suite.
  • Maintenance of office, classroom, and lab inventories. Assist with special projects as needed and campus errands.

Working Conditions:

Adherence to laboratory safety and health policies is required, including the use of all necessary personal protective equipment. This position requires balancing, carrying, climbing, hearing with acuity, lifting, pulling, pushing, reaching ﴾both high and low﴿, repetitious finger and wrist movement, seeing near and far with depth perception and color vision, sitting, speaking clearly, standing, and walking.

Required QualificationsLaboratory experience is preferred. Lab safety training will be provided upon hire.Required EducationMust be enrolled as a student at Belmont University and be a part of the Federal Work-Study Program Required ExperienceLaboratory experience is preferred.
