WHAT YOU’LL DO IN THIS POSITION

​Job Summary:

The Co-Course Director for the Brain, Behavior, and Movement (neurology)willassistthe Course Director in the design, delivery, and coordination of an8-weekblock of the10-week course covering neuroanatomy, neuroscience, motor systems, and behavior. The Co-Course Director will integrate clinical perspectives with foundational science and collaborate across disciplines to enhance teaching throughout the course.This position is expected to require approximately 20% effort (.2 FTE).

Duties and Expectations:

  • Provide clinical insight and instruction for sessions related to neurological disorders, motor control, and behavioral health.

  • Facilitate learning activities and small group discussions centered on clinical neuroanatomy and neurophysiology.

  • Support student learning through patient cases, simulations, and relevant medical conditions.

  • Support development of assessments and grading rubrics.

  • Collaborate with the Course Director to ensure alignment with curricular goals and standards.

WHAT QUALIFIES YOU FOR THIS ROLE

Required Degree: MD, DO, or equivalent clinical degree with relevant specialty trainingin neurology, physical medicine,rehabilitation,neurosurgeryor sports medicine (The required degree must be completed by the start date.)

Experience:

  • Expertisein course-relevant content areas and a commitment to medical education.

  • Alignment with and commitment to the mission, values, and spiritual aims of Brigham Young University and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

  • Preferred: Experienceteachingmedical students or residents in clinical or academic settings.
