Job Description

Job Title: Professors (Part-Time) - Environmental Studies

Department: School of Environmental Studies

Location: College Drive Campus – North Bay, ON

Contract Duration: September 8 – December 18, 2026 (14 weeks excluding Reading Week)

Qualifications:
• Undergraduate degree in Environmental Sciences or a related discipline. An equivalent combination of post-secondary education and directly related environmental work experience may be considered. Master's degree in Environmental Sciences or a related field preferred.
• Minimum five (5) years of recent practical experience related to the environmental field.
• Minimum two (2) years of teaching experience or equivalent instructional experience, preferably in a post-secondary or college environment.
• Minimum one (1) year of laboratory experience within the past three (3) years.
• Experience teaching in laboratory and field-based environments.
• Knowledge of environmental monitoring, environmental legislation, sustainability practices, GIS, water quality, ecosystem management, or related environmental disciplines.
• Experience supervising field activities and ensuring compliance with health and safety requirements.
• Membership or eligibility for membership in relevant environmental professional associations.
• Strong industry connections and experience collaborating with community and employer partners.
• Previous post-secondary teaching experience informed by excellence with various learning
• theories and methods
• Highly effective communication, presentation, and organizational skills
• Demonstrated knowledge of student success strategies in a post-secondary setting
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience in learning management systems, as well as the use of remote delivery and educational technologies
• Previous teaching experience is an asset
• Must be able to reliably commute to the College Drive Campus in North Bay, ON required

Responsibilities:
• Plan, deliver, and evaluate effective learning related to:
• Work closely with students and colleagues to provide an optimal learning environment
• Perform all responsibilities associated with the learning environment including preparation, delivery, and evaluation of theory and practical learning activities
