Job Description Lecturer – International Fashion Business Main Duties and Responsibilities Teaching, Learning and Assessment
- Develop, prepare, and deliver high-quality teaching, learning, and assessment activities across undergraduate programmes.
- Deliver engaging lectures, seminars, workshops, and learning activities related to International Fashion Business.
- Design learning experiences that develop students’ critical thinking, creativity, commercial awareness, and professional skills.
- Contribute to assessment design, marking, moderation, and providing constructive feedback to students.
- Support students in developing knowledge and understanding of fashion business practices, global markets, branding, retail, marketing, and entrepreneurship.
- Ensure teaching is informed by current industry practices, research, and developments within the international fashion sector.
Curriculum Development and Student Experience
- Contribute to the design, review, and enhancement of curriculum content to ensure academic quality, relevance, and industry alignment.
- Act as a personal tutor and provide academic guidance and support to students.
- Support student employability through career guidance, industry engagement, projects, competitions, and professional development activities.
- Contribute to student recruitment, retention, exhibitions, and School activities.
Academic Quality and Professional Practice
- Engage actively in quality assurance and continuous improvement activities.
- Reflect on teaching practice and implement improvements based on student feedback, peer review, and emerging pedagogical approaches.
- Maintain subject expertise through continuous professional development and engagement with developments in fashion business and related industries.
Industry Engagement and Collaboration
- Develop and maintain relationships with fashion businesses, industry professionals, and external organizations.
- Contribute to industry projects, guest lectures, collaborations, and knowledge-exchange activities.
- Support initiatives that strengthen links between academia and the international fashion industry.
Leadership and Collaboration
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across the School and University.
- Contribute to committees, working groups, academic administration, and curriculum development activities.
- Support a positive and collaborative academic environment.
Research and Enterprise
- Contribute to research, scholarly activity, and professional practice within the discipline.
- Disseminate research and professional outputs through appropriate channels, including conferences, publications, exhibitions, and industry platforms.
- Support research, enterprise, and knowledge-transfer activities where appropriate.

- Undertake any other duties commensurate with the grade, responsibilities, and purpose of the role as reasonably required by the University.
