Godfrey Lee Public Schools | Wyoming, MI | $40,000–$43,000 annually

  • Approximately 9:30 AM – 2:30 PM
  • 25 hours/week | 0.45 FTE
  • August - June, following school year

Why This Role Is Different

This is not a hospital shift or chaotic urgent care.

As a School Nurse within HealthBar’s School Nursing Program, you’ll provide comprehensive, thoughtful nursing care to a defined student population — with predictable hours, real autonomy, and the ability to build meaningful relationships in your school community.

You’ll follow the school-year calendar:

  • Summers off
  • No nights
  • No weekends
  • No holidays

What Your Days Look Like

You will:

  • Provide medical training and delegation for school staff (medication administration, chronic disease support, CPR/First Aid, MERT)
  • Support chronic disease management (allergies, asthma, diabetes, seizures, mental health)
  • Write and implement individualized plans of care
  • Respond to medical emergencies and coordinate Medical Emergency Response Teams (MERT)
  • Collaborate with school administration, teachers, PT/OT, speech, social work, CNAs, and fellow RNs
  • Participate in 504 and IEP meetings

You’ll also provide both routine and complex nursing care, including:

  • Medication administration
  • Assessing and treating illnesses and injuries
  • Specialized nursing care as needed
  • Public health education
  • Provider consultations

What You Won’t Be Dealing With

  • No hospital shift rotations
  • No 12-hour nights
  • No holiday coverage
  • No weekend requirements
  • No unpredictable overtime

You’ll work a steady, school-based schedule that allows you to fully unplug during breaks.

Compensation

$40,000–$43,000 annually (based on experience)

25 hours/week, 37 weeks (following school schedule)

Benefits

Employees receive access to HealthBar's benefit offerings, including:

  • Direct access to a clinical provider (you + dependents)
  • Discounted care through HealthBar's network
  • Paid Time Off
  • Biannual profit sharing
  • Employee 401(k) contributions

Yeah, you read that right.

This Role Is a Great Fit If…

You enjoy working with children, building relationships, and supporting student success through compassionate, patient-centered care.

You'll thrive in this role if you're kind, adaptable, and able to work effectively with a wide variety of personalities. This position is ideal for a nurse who can balance independence with collaboration and enjoys being a trusted resource for students, families, teachers, and staff.

The (Required) Qualifications
