Job Description

We are looking for a talented School Nurse (RN)to join our team. This nurse will serve K-12 students from June 22nd-October 31st, Monday-Friday from 7:30am-3:30pm.

Hourly Rate Range $35.00-$45.00 per hour

Responsibilities would include:

• Provide direct nursing services, health assessments, first aid, and emergency care for students and staff.
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders, district policies, and North Carolina school health regulations.
• Monitor and manage student health conditions including asthma, diabetes, seizure disorders, allergies, and other chronic medical needs.
• Develop, implement, and maintain Individualized Healthcare Plans (IHPs), Emergency Action Plans (EAPs), and care plans for students with medical conditions.
• Conduct health screenings, including vision, hearing, and other screenings required by North Carolina law and local district policies.
• Collaborate with parents, physicians, school administrators, counselors, teachers, and community healthcare providers to support student health and academic success.
• Participate in the development and implementation of Section 504 Plans and Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) as appropriate.
• Maintain accurate student health records and documentation in compliance with North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI), North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (NCDHHS), FERPA, HIPAA, and local district requirements.
• Promote health education, disease prevention, wellness initiatives, and infection control practices throughout the school community.
• Monitor compliance with North Carolina immunization requirements and communicable disease protocols.
• Assist with crisis response planning, emergency preparedness, and school safety initiatives.

Required Qualifications:

• Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (ADN or BSN) from an accredited nursing program.
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the North Carolina Board of Nursing.
• Eligibility to work as a School Nurse within North Carolina public schools.
• CPR and First Aid Certification.
• Experience working with children or within a school setting preferred.
• Fingerprint Clearance and/or Background Check required.
