School Nurse

Out-of-District Student

Position Summary

The Dover School District is seeking a qualified, compassionate, and dependable Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), as appropriate to the student's medical needs and applicable requirements, to provide individualized nursing care and health-related support to a student attending an out-of-district school placement.

The nurse will work collaboratively with the student's family, school personnel, and district representatives to support the student's health, safety, and access to the educational program.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 nursing care and supervision during the school day and other assigned school-related activities, as required.
• Monitor the student's health status and respond appropriately to medical needs and emergencies.
• Administer medications and perform nursing procedures in accordance with medical orders, applicable regulations, and district policies.
• Implement the student's individualized healthcare plan and follow applicable emergency protocols.
• Maintain accurate and confidential documentation of nursing services and health-related information.
• Communicate and collaborate with the student's family, out-of-district school personnel, and district staff regarding health and safety needs.
• Ensure compliance with applicable health, safety, and confidentiality requirements.

Qualifications

• Current New Jersey nursing license (RN or LPN, as appropriate to the position and student's needs).
• Current CPR/AED certification, as required.
• Experience working with school-aged children and students with complex medical needs preferred.
• Ability to respond calmly and effectively to medical emergencies.
• Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills.
• Ability to collaborate professionally with families, school personnel, and district staff.

Compensation

$63,335 - $101,035
