About the Academy:

Outwood Academy Redcar welcomes students aged 11-16, located in the coastal town of Redcar near Middlesbrough in the North-East region.

Our academy is known for its warm and supportive environment, with a focus on inclusion and providing opportunities and experiences beyond the classroom for our students.

The role involves actively supervising pupils, maintaining high-quality working conditions, ensuring optimum use of ICT, and assisting students in developing research skills. They run after-school enrichment and lunchtime activities, develop community links to promote reading, and provide regular reports on the LRC’s needs, performance, and usage.

Essential experience for this position is working in a library/learning resource environment. Essential skills include the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of audiences, maintain confidentiality, and utilize standard ICT packages (Microsoft Office).

The coordinator must exhibit excellent time management and organisation skills and be able to relate to students sympathetically, recognising potential child safeguarding issues. Experience of working in a school environment is desirable. The candidate must be willing and able to enhance their qualifications.
