Job Description

What You’ll Do

As the Data Analyst at Veritas Prep Charter School, you will play a critical role in transforming data into actionable insights that drive student success and school-wide impact. You will not only manage the school’s data systems, but actively leverage data to advance organizational priorities and improve outcomes for students.

As a key member of the School Operations Team, you will ensure that student data and records are accurate, organized, and accessible. Through strong collaboration with school leaders, staff, and external partners, you will maintain the integrity of data across systems while continuously improving processes and practices.

Serving as the school’s data expert, you will develop clear, meaningful reports that track progress toward organizational goals and student achievement. You will analyze trends, identify opportunities, and provide timely, reliable insights that empower leadership to make informed, strategic decisions.

You’ll also:

  • Collect, organize, and manage student data, including attendance, grades, test scores, and demographic information.
    • Manage and maintain Veritas Prep’s Student Information Systems (SIS) and serve as technical resource for SIS design, setup, and best practices (currently with PowerSchool, subject to change).
    • Develop and implement data quality control measures to ensure data integrity.
    • Ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency of data across all systems.
    • Provide timely and accurate reports to the Director of Business Management, ultimately due to local and state entities.
    • Integrate third-party data systems with Veritas Prep’s SIS (currently with PowerSchool, subject to change).
    • Collaborate with school operations teams to complete state data collection processes, including semi-annual SIMS, EPIMS, and SSDR reporting and regular charter school reports (waitlists, enrollment estimates, sibling reports)
    • Manage vendor relationships associated with relevant data platforms, including coordinating support, overseeing system updates, and ensuring alignment with school needs.
    • Provide consultation and trouble-shooting to the tech team to resolve issues of software integration and synching
  • Deliver comprehensive data analyses to school leadership that help to guide data-driven decision-making that improves student outcomes.
    • Develop and deliver comprehensive data analyses and reports on academic performance and school culture to support key strategic initiatives, including board presentations, organizational planning, and communications with students and families.
    • Train and support school staff in group and individual settings on data management and analysis tools.
    • Create and maintain reports on student progress and outcomes.
  • Other School Functions
    • Collaborate with school counselors and leadership to build school master schedule and create student schedule, including managing student course request data
    • Troubleshoot technical issues related to new and/or existing systems.
    • Serve as IT support and substitute for Technology Manager.
  • Perform other required duties as assigned.

Requirements

What You’ll Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, data information systems, data analytics or equivalent is required.
  • Experience managing education data in PowerSchool or equivalent is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Excellent computer skills, including technical troubleshooting expertise
  • Microsoft Office 365 expertise, emphasis on strong Excel and data manipulation skills
  • Ability to work independently on a variety of tasks
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Previous experience in data management and analysis (experience in school environments preferred)
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-through
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet tight deadlines
  • Experience with project planning and management
  • Experience with query-based scripting languages (Oracle SQL preferred)
  • Familiarity with relational database management systems
  • Experience with high school scheduling process

  • Salary Range for this position is $60,000-$80,000 exclusive of fringe benefits.
    • If hired, your final base salary will be determined based on factors such as skills, education, and/or experience.
    • In addition to those factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as part of any final offer.
    • Keep in mind, the above range is the full base salary range for this position. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical in order to allow for future and continued salary growth.
