REQUIREMENTS:
- Master's degree in counseling, Educational Counseling, or Social Work
- Minimum of two (2) years’ experience working with at-risk children and adolescents
- Current or ability to obtain certifications in:
- Safety Care
- First Aid, CPR, and AED
- Completion of required annual trainings (Bloodborne Pathogens, HIPAA, Emergency Preparedness, Infection Control, Human Rights, Mandated Reporting, Cultural Competency, etc.)
- Completion of Child Abuse Recognition Training
- Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide weekly individual counseling sessions and additional support as needed
- Facilitate weekly small group counseling sessions, including topics such as:
- Social skills
- Emotional and social awareness
- Personal growth and development
- Self-esteem
- Impulse control
- Anger management
- Maintain knowledge of community resources and provide referrals to students and families
- Update and maintain student social histories and records
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to support student success
- Interpret and present assessment data to school staff and leadership
- Serve as a liaison between school, family, and community
- Support the development of a positive and inclusive school culture
- Participate in student transition planning
- Provide crisis intervention services as needed
- Maintain accurate documentation and case records
- Engage in ongoing professional development
- Model professionalism and support the overall mission of Dominion Care
