We are searching for a School Counselor to join our growing team in Queensbury, NY.
This position follows our school calendar with a mandatory six week summer school session.
Responsibilities
The School Social Worker supports the students of the Children Services Division and the mission of the Center by providing comprehensive behavioral health services following guidelines and specific regulations that pertain to the delivery of these services and works collaboratively with administration and team members to ensure quality services to all.
Works collaboratively with program directors and interdisciplinary team members to ensure quality services to all students served and their families.
Develops recommended annual individualized education plan (IEP) goals and objectives
Develops appropriate treatment plans, based on a student’s IEP's.
Provides comprehensive psychosocial services using methods and instruments appropriate to the developmental age and needs of the student.
Provides services as indicated on annual IEP.
Documents student treatment outcomes correctly and contemporaneously.
Implements classroom management and individual behavior intervention
Provides assistance as necessary to management and team during student/family crisis and/or suspected child abuse/neglect screening and reporting
Requirements
Graduate degree (Masters) in field of Social Work, Psychology, or Behavioral Sciences.
Specialized training, license, certification, skills:
NYS Licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC)
Mental Health Counselor (MHC) Limited Permit working towards LMHC
Master Social Worker (MSW) working towards LMSW
Professional experience working with students with developmental, physical, neurological disorders, and Autism Spectrum disorders preferred
Less than 1 yr of job related exp required
Must be at least 18 years old to apply for this position. Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.

Compensation Range:
$68,945.06 - $75,606.80

The Center for Disability Services provides comprehensive Health Care, residential services, education, adult programming, service coordination and skilled nursing care to individuals with disabilities. In addition, we have a commercial printing, inserting, and mailing operation that is supported by a workforce of over 200 individuals with disabilities.
Our annual budget is approximately $129 million dollars and we employ over 2,700 workers in over 80 locations. The Center also has a Foundation that supports many of the necessary services that are not funded by other sources.
